La Gioconda — Restaurant in Meyrin

We went there after a long 5h bus ride from Milan to Geneva. The service was very slow and we were just about to leave when the waiter insisted we stay and that he would have our food ready in 5mins. We ordered the escargots and the rigatoni flamed with vodka. Now, this might be our fault for not asking exactly how the vodka was added to the rigatoni, but we expected to taste the pasta more than the vodka. If you are not a frequent drinker, this is the last meal I would recommend. Every bite tasted like taking a straight shot of vodka. Again, it may be that the dish is supposed to taste that way. I would just not recommend, or at least that the vodka not be smirnoff if it's the main taste of the dish.

Service overall was pretty bad; waiters rushing around in a near empty restaurant and what seems to be a higher up just strolling around.

I would like to express my indignation about the service provided by employee Sheila! Very rude! At first there was no table and they put us on a table of 4 people, and there are 6 of us! Seeing the salon empty, we asked to change tables and the employee, very rude, pushed the tables with the utmost rudeness and unwillingness! When we went to ask if the menu was in Swiss franc or euro, she said we had to inform ourselves before traveling to other people's parents and always have the local currency! We didn't ask what we would need to enter the country, but if the menu was in one currency or another! Still during the service, the other waiter when removing the plate from the table, when I was on the coast, pushed me without asking permission! Simply a terrible experience! I lodged in a hotel (Nash Hotel & Suites) near this restaurant. I and two other friends of mine ate our lunch and dinner here for 5 days. One of the issues is language barriers and secondly, only two members of staff(waiters) attending to 50 customers. Takes ages to get your order ready, takes ages to get your bills to you. I spent an hour begging for someone to attend to me to make payment. Horrible service. Whoever is the manager needs to employ more staff. Well made plenty food generally but terrible service.
