Returning to the Grand Hotel Kronenhof for the second time felt less like checking into a hotel and more like being welcomed back into the home of old, cherished friends. At the reception, Mark and Arthur set the tone immediately. Mark, in particular, is one of those rare characters who seems woven into the very fabric of the hotel. He shines so brightly with his presence that you half expect him to step out of a Wes Anderson scene, delivering lines that make you smile long after.

Breakfast at Kronenhof is a ritual worth savoring and much of its charm comes from the iconic team that orchestrates it. Giuseppe, with his humor and attentive spirit, seems to glide between tables like a conductor ensuring every note is played at the right time. He makes mornings feel alive, warm, and unmistakably Kronenhof.

If you stay here, you must treat yourself to an evening at the gourmet Kronenstübli, where Sonja and her team work with such precision and elegance that it truly feels like watching a perfectly rehearsed play. Our evening was made unforgettable by Andreas from Greece, whose warmth, professionalism, and gentle care for my mother and me created a memory we will treasure.

And then, of course, the bar, a place that could easily double as the backdrop for a cinematic moment. The kind Jacob crafted for me nothing less than the hot chocolate of my dreams, a creation so indulgent and so perfectly made that I still think of it fondly.

The Grand Hotel Kronenhof, located in the Engadine valley in the Swiss Alps, is not just a Five Star Hotel, it’s officially a Five Star, Superior hotel. Why is that? For one thing, it’s the Swiss hospitality and the professionalism of the staff. |The Reception staff and the Concierge make one very much at home as soon as a guest enters. In fact, Daniel Stauch, the Head Concierge/Guest Relations, is always very responsive to our questions and requests even before we arrive at the hotel. The superior service flows through reception, the concierge, the dining room, the bar, the spa and housekeeping. Every wish and need is promptly fulfilled with a pleasant smile. |We have vacationed at the Kronenhof four times. Each time we arrive, we receive a royal welcome full of smiling faces. While a receptionist efficiently checks us in, our bags are whisked off to our room. The Kronenhof team is committed to making every guest’s stay a joyful, memorable event. My husband and I consider the Grand Hotel Kronenhof our home away from home. |Among other awards, the World Luxury Spa Awards granted the Grand Hotel Kronenhof, the 2016 Global Spa of the Year award. Switzerland country scenery is a huge garden spotted with charming houses. But some places are more attractive than others and this hotel helps to make Pontresina a very attractive destination. |Much more charming than St Moritz, and still only 10 minutes away, Pontresina is a beautiful base for hiking and relaxing. |This hotel makes relaxing a special experience|Build nearly 200 years ago and after several expansions and refurbishments today they offer a classical XIX century building with all modern conveniences, tastefully decorated and with a refined taste all around.|The huge stately restaurante serves an excellent buffet breakfast and a fixed dinner menu with choices. A second gourmet restaurant adds on alternatives if the restaurant is not enough. |WiFi works very well, the Spa is huge and fantastic, one of the best I visited, The garden facing the valley and mountains with its lunch wooden cabin restaurant, makes relaxing during the day the perfect plan.|We had a very nice suite consisting of a generous bedroom, separate living room and large bathroom. Everything up to date and elegant. Clothes storage space is so large that you could bring your whole wardrobe and will not fill it up.|As very frequent in Switzerland AC is not provided.
