We stayed in one of the private apartments. The location is great and very central on a small quiet street. View to the mountains exceptional. They have a nice indoor pool and the gym in comparison to other hotels is first class. So why only 3*. The hotel is old and made up of two or more buildings. At the beginning you feel like being in a maze searching for restaurant, pool, gym etc. it takes to get used walking around. Then one day we didn’t have hot water for over a day. Had to go shower in the pool. Explanation it’s an old hotel. There is no indoor walk to the garage, you have to go outside and walk to the garage. Unpleasant when it rains or hard snow. In order to get to the garage the receptionist has to give you a key which you can’t keep during your stay. Get the car drive to outdoor parking lot get out return key etc. same thing when you return. Pain in the you know where. Give the guest a key and charge €100 deposit for those not returning the key. Restaurant: we were there twice, after that we couldn’t deal with it any longer. The dining area was dark no chance to read the menu unless you have a phone and use the flashlight. I totally understand to light up an empty restaurant is costly but just put a LED table light (Alibaba €20) that would do the job. Kitchen wasn’t able to prepare the food as ordered. So the order w/o veggie came with veggie. We ordered w/o rice it came with rice etc. the food it self was good. Upon our return from a day out we felt like having a drink in the bar or the lounge. Gave up after 3 attempts no service. I give 3 stars because the reception team (all of them) are really great customer oriented and apologetic. We also liked the fresh fruit on the counter - nice touch. My assumption is we cought them in the first week of the season. Not everything is in place yet or still in training. Good luck for a good...
Read moreThis was our second visit to Hotel Europa. My wife and I couldn't imagine it would be better than the first time two years ago but it was even better than we remembered. The hotel is conveniently located via a beautiful 30-minute walk, 15-minute bus ride, or 5-minute drive from the Center of St Moritz. From the moment we arrived with 60+ of our friends from around the world the staff embraced us as family. Now we are connected to the staff as friends through social media with planned visits with them. Not only did they speak English but most were multilingual. The food was exquisite for every meal with the crowning dinner at the famous Steak and More restaurant. Such an experience complimented with breathtaking mountain and sunset views. We were even provided with take away lunch bags for our hikes. The rooms were spacious, clean and comfortable. The pictures of the pool and exercise facilities speak for themselves. We personally used the pool and exercise room every day. Family friendly activities were walks on the nearby trails to the lakes, visiting the chocolate stores, visiting the museums, helicopter rides, horse riding, horse drawn carriage ride up a mountain with a delicious lunch and walk down, riding the funicular and walks through the town of St Moritz. We cannot thank the owner, the Director Mark, maitre'd Harry and the rest of the staff for everything!! We are looking forward our return. And last but not least, all of this was accomplished at a very reasonable price. You cannot go wrong staying at...
