Like the title says, the hotel is simple poshness presented in a old school fashion without too many frills and an absolute value for money, The hospitality is as classy as any good star hotel you would pay triple the amount to stay in at other cities in the island. So an absolute value for money

LOCATION: This is a slight disadvantage since it is not close to the downtown area, but still not too far. But the fact it is closer to water gives it the advantage of lovely views

DINE + DRINK: Typical hotel restaurant serving nothing more than Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner. So if you need an in-between snack or a Coffee you need to step out!

ROOM: I stayed in 8304, so this review is based on that; VIEW: Lovely view of the Ocean and probably one of THE BEST views in the city(from a hotel) ; SIZE: spacious room; AIR-CON: Perfectly functioning cooler that helped in setting the perfect room temperature; BED: Comfortable bed that played the expected part to put me to sleep; BATHROOM: Stand in shower and a lovely bathtub, with a killer view of the ocean. #ShowerWIthAView; TOILETRIES: Nice luxurious SPA quality cosmetics!

FACILITIES:Be prepared to get into a pure Asian chill-out mode as the so called Gym is a big joke and nothing more than a couple of treadmills and ‘Massage Chairs’!

SERVICE: Friendly staff that took care of all my needs with a smile and made us feel pampered and well taken care of. Special Shout out to the Front desk staff who made our stay even more special by giving us a lovely room

The Hotel has excellent professional staffs at reception desk and other front service. Hotel has variety of rooms, and, in general, every room has both shower and bathing tub. For hotel guests who select Ocean-view rooms, they may have bathtub sitting beside windows and can enjoy ocean view while taking bathing.

It provides 2 bottles of water per day to visitors per room, while it also offers green tea and instant coffee bags.

Because the Hotel is NOT located at downtown Hua Lien City, the Hotel is relatively quiet and without noise at night and in weekend. For hotel guests who like to visit Hua Lien downtown or business centers, walking time is about 30 minutes one way.

The Hotel does offer Buffett style breakfast, although its food selection is rather weak in western pastries/ bakeries/ bread/ desserts selections, although it is rather strong in Chinese or traditional Taiwanese entries and dishes.

Also, the Hotel does not have Safe Box at its rooms.

Because the Hotel offers One pillow per guest, guest who needs extra pillow will have to request the extra pillow at the front desk.

Nice upscale hotel in great location. Do you ask why did I give it 3 stars? There are three reasons. First and foremost, I woke up with many insect bites on my arms and legs. I think they are mosquito bites but some are clustered and could be bedbug bites. Second is poor internet access. This is very important to me as I use the internet for business and pleasure. Last but not least, there was a foul smell in the room when we arrived. We had a balcony so we opened the door to sit out the room. The breakfast was excellent. The lobby is beautiful. There a spa with hot tub, cold tub, steam room and dry sauna. The room was comfortable and clean except for the bugs and smell. There is both a short and bathtub. This could be a great hotel but bugs are a killer. Also lack of good internet in a supposed high end...
