皇品時尚旅店 Golden Hotel — Hotel in New Taipei

First of all the hotel is situated near the Banqiao HSR and also Fu Zhong MRT station. Coming from the airport you could directly take the HSR to Banqiao station and take a taxi to the hotel. The hotel is within 10minutes walking distance from the Exit 2 Fu Zhong station.||||Upon entering the hotel the staff greeted us warmly. As it was still early for us to check in (12pm) and the room isn't ready yet, they offered to keep our bags for us as we go out to find some food. You could easily find food near the hotel. There is also an alley nearby selling hawker food at night. ||||After filling our stomach we went back to the hotel and they informed us that they had upgraded our room to a bigger one. The room had a bathtub, powerful shower and also sauna heat for you to relax. ||||One thing that impressed me about this hotel is the staff. One day we came back pretty late at night the staff at the counter still stand up and greet us when we came in. After a long day outside it feels so good to be greeted warmly even in the middle of the night :)||||ps: to those worrying about the hotel being a little out of the way, no worries because 10 minutes walk to the Exit 2 Fu Zhong station (blue line) LRT and from there it is easy to go anywhere! This hotel is in New Taipei City, close to the Banqiao HSR train station. So it is convenient to stay at if you're using the HSR to get from the airport to the city. I booked the hotel on Expedia, and frankly was not expecting much. The photos on Expedia made me think that I was going to be staying at a somewhat acceptable, frayed around the edges, bare-bones hotel. I was completely wrong. Although small, (but this is the rule in Asia) the rooms are new and stylishly appointed. The bathroom was spotless, the bed was comfortable, everything (TV, A/C, shower, lights, elevator) worked well. What's more the desk staff spoke good English, are welcoming and they provide free canned beverages. There was also comp. coupons for breakfast at McDonald's in the morning. The only complaint I can think of is that the sound insulation between rooms is poor, but I have found this to be common in Asia. Quiet location with a small park nearby. Less than ten minutes walk to the MRT Fu Zhong or Banqiao station (interchange with main line and HSR). Plenty of cafes, restaurants and street food stalls to suit all tastes and budgets. Few shopping malls and night markets within walking distance. Room very clean and in good decorative conditions. McDonald breakfast delivered to our door every morning. Very friendly and helpful staff with limited English. Free use of the laundry room.
