Alright, so let me tell you about this experience I had at this Hilton hotel in Taipei that’ll make you rethink elevators, staircases, and possibly humanity itself. You ever wanted to enter a parallel dimension? Just take the wrong stairs here. Seriously. You hit a button, and before you know it, you’re not even in the same hotel anymore. It’s like some kind of practical joke—except the punchline is you wandering around trying to figure out where you went wrong.

Oh, and God forbid you take the stairs by the gym on the 32nd floor. You think you’re being healthy, right? Wrong. Next thing you know, you’re lost on the 31st floor, which feels like a completely different hotel, which it is. At one point, I asked a staff member for help, and they pulled out a translator app. The result? Well, let’s just say the app suggested something that sounded like a hit job on the front desk clerk. Wild times.

Now, the elevators… wow. I’ve been in bad elevators, but these are on a whole other level of terrible. There’s seemingly only one elevator that goes to the gym and pool, which is just insane for a 31-floor hotel. You’ll be waiting forever if you don’t take the stairs. And the thing is, even when you get on the elevator, you’re still not safe. Worst elevators I’ve ever experienced. Good luck getting anywhere without questioning your entire existence.

The pool? Oh, it’s great—an infinity style pool with a killer view of the city through a glass wall. But don’t get too excited, because you’re sharing this lap pool with guests from another hotel. Same deal with the gym, which is tiny but at least has a decent view while you're trying to work off the stress from figuring out how to get there.

And speaking of trying, the executive lounge is where people literally walk on top of each other. It’s like a bizarre social experiment in how many humans you can stuff into a room. The food? Let's just say you might want to schedule your doctor's appointment now, because you’ll need an immune system of steel to eat there without getting sick.

The AC in my room? It’s not working. It shuts off every 15 minutes. The buffet? Also not working—at least, not for anyone with functioning taste buds. And as for the executive lounge’s outdoor area? It’s kinda nice if it’s not raining. But again, don’t expect much from the food.

The room? It was nice. The carpets in my room? Let’s hope those stains are from pets because the alternative is too terrifying to consider. Who knows what kind of creatures stayed in those rooms before me? And what did they do… Maybe they were the ones designing the elevators.

As an experiment I noticed a woman's hair tie outside the elevators on the floor, it was there at least the two days I was, meaning cleanness is definitely again not on the menu.

And the doors at the end of the hall looked like something from a mechanics garage.

If you’re a smoker, well, you’ll be sent outside into a dark alley way for your stoge or cig…

In short, this place is a wild ride, quite literally. It’s like they tried to build a hotel but accidentally created a maze with hopefully pet-stained carpets in your room, even though it says no pets….food for pets, and broken AC to boot. Oh, and don’t forget, if you’re going to the gym or pool, you might want to pack a tent—you’ll be waiting a year for...

We cannot say enough positive things about this hotel and their fantastic staff. Not only are the amenities top notch, but the hospitality is first class. The staff at this hotel goes above and beyond to make your stay and experience beyond comfortable.

We stayed here in July (10 days) and November (12 days) - both for adoption trips. For both of our stays, we were upgraded to rooms with access to the Executive Lounge. For our November trip, we stayed in a premium suite, which gave us more than enough room for us and our new son.

The gentlemen that work the conseigre are so good at their job. Their restaurant recommendations were spot on! They helped us order pizza and gave us things to do around the the city. Not only were they helpful, but they were so kind to us. They made a special effort to make a relationship with our newly adopted son. Our son hugged them before we left.

The staff at the front desk are more than accommodating. They helped us book our room and were so friendly and kind to our son. They also took special interest in building a relationship with him too!

The Executive Lounge has a wonderful array of breakfast options. Their nightly happy hour has awesome snack and drink options. What makes the lounge so great is the staff in there. (Are you seeing a theme here? The staff!!) Their kindness, attentiveness, and generosity are first class. When they found out it was our son’s birthday, the cook and all the staff come out with special cupcake and sang to him. They offered him freshly squeezed watermelon juice daily and even provided some kid-friendly amenities for him to take back to the hotel. They made us feel special.

On our way back home, we were not able to get on our flight due to some visa issues. We came back to the Hilton and were taken care of. We knew we could go back there to feel safe and supported. They helped us rebook a flight and offered us a spare room to rest while we got it all figured out. The staff from the lounge found out we were back and he made a special trip down to come say hello and make sure we were okay.

Our rooms were clean and beautiful. The beds are super comfortable. The rooftop pool is amazing and the view is spectacular.

Every single person that we came in contact with was positive and kind. Every bell hop, house cleaning staff, front desk employee, executive lounge employee, and consergie was friendly and accommodating. Spending 12 days in a foreign country can be intimating - but the Hilton Taipei Sinban made us feel at home. Thank you, thank you, thank you for the wonderful stay...

This was my first stay at Hilton Taipei Sinban, based on a friend’s recommendation. The location is quite close to the “three rails” (HSR, TRA, and MRT), but since I currently have mobility issues and rely on a cane, walking with luggage after getting off the HSR was actually not a good choice for me. Honestly, I regretted booking once I realized the distance I still had to walk.

That said, every staff member at the front desk and the bell staff at the entrance were very professional, warm, and welcoming. Their service immediately put me at ease. I was pleasantly surprised by a complimentary upgrade, and the room turned out to be extremely comfortable—much more than I expected. When I requested amenities and trash removal, the two housekeeping staff who helped me were both polite and kind. Every detail in the room service and housekeeping made me feel this hotel truly deserves its five-star rating.

Breakfast on the second day revealed a major shortcoming, however. Due to my mobility, I chose to dine at the 27th floor lounge. Unlike other hotels, no one greeted me at the entrance or asked for my room number—I simply walked in, found my own seat, and went to order food. The chef at the noodle and omelet station was surprisingly cold, with no smile and a rather unwelcoming attitude. Later, while I was getting salad, a staff member abruptly asked for my room number in a flat, unfriendly manner. The breakfast itself was nicely presented and delicious, but next time I would definitely choose to eat at the restaurant downstairs instead.

In the afternoon, I brought a friend to enjoy some tea at the lounge. Before entering, I asked a staff member sitting at the desk if we could just go in. Instead of walking over, she called back to me from a distance, which felt awkward and unprofessional. After sitting down, we had a couple of small bites, but our empty plates stayed on the table for about 2 hours, even though staff kept walking by without clearing them.

Over the course of my two-night stay, I used the lounge twice, and unfortunately both experiences left me with the same impression of cold and indifferent service. This was disappointing enough that I gave up my plan to return in the evening to enjoy the night view from the lounge.

Overall, I would stay here again because the rooms, housekeeping, and front desk service were truly excellent, and I would love to try the pool that my friend highly recommended. However, I will likely avoid the executive lounge on...

PROs 5-min walk to major public transportation hub—Banqiao Station—where you can access the train and MRT lines. 8-min walk to Mega City Department Store which also houses a Din Tai Fung that is less busy than the branch at Taipei 101. Rooms and public spaces are clean, well-kept, and modern-looking. Housekeeping staff are friendly and helpful. Beautiful open-sky roof-top pool perfect for a social media post. It’s a small pool shared with the adjacent hotel, but it’s pretty with blooming plumeria bushes (I stayed at the end of July/beginning of August). Nespresso Vertuo machine and pods in each hotel room. Also, rooms are equipped with stainless steel hot water kettles in case you want to make yourself a cup of tea (complimentary in-room tea bags provided). Well-appointed bathroom with luxurious soaking tub and warm-water bidet. The West had not caught on to warm-water bidets yet! - - - CONs Cafe and coffee shop/bakery don’t open until 10 AM. True, they stay open until midnight, but if you want a specialty coffee drink—like a latte, for example—you have to wait until 10 AM, make yourself a regular cup of coffee from your in-room Vertuo machine, or leave the hotel to find a local coffee shop. 4/5 stars for service because in general, 1st floor staff are competent and helpful when you ask for something, but they are not warm/friendly. I got a very cold vibe from one staff member with whom I interacted whose name/position shall not be published. - - - *In sum, a great stay worth what I paid as a Hilton member. I would rate this hotel 4.5 stars overall, but since only whole stars are an option, I had to round down to 4 stars.
