Located right across the street from the MRT exit, Hey Bear is easy to access. The reception is on the 8th floor along with the female rooms, while the mixed bunks are located on the 9th floor.
The capsules themselves are interesting and space ages. There is a dedicated air conditioning vent within each bunk, which provides plenty of cool air flow. Within the capsules are 3-inch mattress pads, which are comfortable enough.
Instead of curtains, these capsules have sliding metal doors, which lock into place via key card. This is a handy feature as one can consider the capsule as a locker as well, though I wouldn't consider locking myself in, though I can hear others doing so, as they active their door locks to exit in the AM.
Full size lockers (activated via key card) are located both in the common room and in a separate locker room on the 9th floor. There are no storage lockers within individual rooms.
There is also a regular bunk room, with traditional curtains and tiny individual, closet sized rooms, though they are not listed on the website. These are semi private 6-person rooms for small groups of friends.
The laundry machine is on the 8th floor, along with a vending machine and refrigerator. There are no cooking facilities, so I would not consider Hey Bear to be good for extended stay. There is no food or coffee provided, as such services are limited. There is a full sized supermarket on level B1, which is convenient.
On the plus side, there are free video games in the lobby, which does provide entertainment, however I do not consider this a utility service.
The bathroom facilities are a mixed bag, though large, there are only three regular toilets on the 9th floor and none on the 8th floor men's bathroom. The old fashion squatting facilities are available throughout. I found the toilet's water saving feature subpar has it takes such a long time to flush, many others simply to not flush properly and leave the toilets as unflushed. Considering the hotel is only a few years old, I wonder about how the poorly designed bathrooms existed.
Key card access after hours only accesses the 9th floor, however one would then walk...
Read moreCool to experience a space pod. Well, sort of... The lighting, the blue light, mirror and overall feel of the capsule makes you feel you are in a space pod. ||||Accommodation is pretty cheap and they reply to queries immediately. Location of the capsule hotel is a 2minute walk from the subway station. It has signage and elevator to the building (i think they have the 8th flr). We have to book 2 days since our flight was early morning. ||||The place is clean and quiet. Like really quiet. The staff are not really friendly, they will answer your concerns and that is it. You be careful not to make any noise. ||||Upon getting off the elevator is the lobby, reception and common area. Here you can eat your food, there are coffee and snacks to be bought or just bring your own food in. You need your card key to get inside the dorm rooms. The locker room area where you can fit mostly hand carry luggages and bags. Bath area has shower, wash area and toilet (Important note: there is no bidet and Toilet paper in the toilet). Toilet are both the squat type and the one with a bowl. Showers are basic, you need to bring your own stuff. They do however have an area where you can fix yourself with mirrors and hair dryer.||||The sleeping rooms are cold and dark. On your pod you can adjust the vent (not the temp since it is centralized), it has socket for usb charging and plugs, mirror, one pillow and futon, a tv with remote, reading light. It has a safety deposit box tho i was not able to use mine. Then pods have secured doors that locks. The lower berth can hear the upper berth when moving. Also, they have a plastic basket that you use to bring your toiletries. ||||Most of the stuff, you provide on your own. Slippers, towels, toiletries. ||||Don't put the card key close to your phone as it can erase the details. If that happens, just ask help at the reception.||||Make sure to checkout exactly 12 as they strict with it. This is what turned me off with it, anyway we were done and just fixing our luggage in the locker room area when the staff went inside to inform us...
