Taichung Charming City Hotel — Hotel in Taichung

I stayed at this hotel for 2 weeks to quarantine after landing in Taiwan. As I was staying alone, the room was decent sized for 1 person and would probably have been good enough for 2 people.

Pros staffs were super friendly and helpful. On their regulations, they indicated specific times when food/items could be delivered (i.e. meal deliveries had to make it to the front desk before certain meal times or they'd deliver at the next meal time). However, they did not adhere to those rules. Every time my relatives delivered something I'd have it outside my room within the next 5 minutes. I've often asked them to deliver extra items (i.e. more bottled water) together during meal time to prevent an extra trip for them but they always get it to me right after I request for it. My room had a tub that was so big I could extend my legs fully without any discomfort. Water was definitely hotter if I took a bath outside of the "usual" time when most people take baths. 2 different type of showers, one that came from the ceiling and one that you could hold in your hands. Items were thoroughly prepared and I only had to ask for extra water. Comfortable bed. Big window to to get adequate sunlight. Food was slightly carb heavy for me but very decent. I would recommend getting food from them as it also helps with jet lag since they are usually very on time with their food delivery (7:30 am, 11:30 am and 5:30 pm).

Cons I think the window is not very soundproof. One night they had a temple celebration or something and I could hear everything from music to firecrackers. I can often hear cars speeding past at night even though I am on the 11th floor. Dust bunnies keep forming and I have no clue where they are from. AC temperature is not adjustable; however, you can change the speed the fan is going. Need more ceiling lights. There are many lamps in the room but there's no actual ceiling light in the middle of the room. My plugs (2 prong or 3 prong) did not fully fit into the outlet so it was always hanging off halfway. Internet did have problems connecting from time to time but this isn't really a big deal considering everyone needs to obtain a SIM card at the airport (and it usually comes with unlimited data).

A few recommendations for people who stay here to quarantine in the future: You can request for new bath mat if the one you have is dirty. They will exchange your old one with a new one at your request. You can request for a vacuum cleaner if there's too much dust bunny. They are very quick to respond to request over LINE. I brought my own towel as someone had indicated that they provide one-time use towels. This is true and it is definitely not as comfortable as a regular towel. Bring some conditioner if you are someone who cares about your hair. They do not provide any (but there is lotion). I would bring an extension cord as there is no outlet near...

Quarantine staying, too late to book the room works the best to me lol. One person stay but only has twin bed room, eventually turns out okay. Room size is in decent size, even with 2 beds, plenty of space can do walks or little exercise if need. Overall the room is clean, no wried smells, the view is awesome and quiet all the time, unless you open the windows. During the day time the natural light is enough to work thing on. Bathroom is well organized, water pressure okay. Various foods during my stay and of course you can order food delivery. Hotel is at convenient spot thus tons of options you have. Service wise is very impressive, quick response all the time, make you feel cared ha.

One point is weird, bottle water is limited but yes you can purchase on you own from multiple sources.

Terrible management team. My family and I checked into the hotel around 9 at night and found there is no hot water for shower. Called the service 3 times before they finally told us they knew the problem earlier but did not inform us when we checked in. By 11:30pm they finally admit the water problem and moved as to a near by motel, which is a terrible moldy and unsanitary location promising they will pay for the cost. Well, by next morning they changed their mind and my family member had to insist a discussion with the management before they agreed to honor their promise.
