Deja Vu Hotel — Hotel in Taipei

Double booking|I booked this hotel from 02May - 05May through @Agoda.com and its clearly said no booking fee (which supposed your final seeing price is same as your charged amount). However, my first booking showing a taxes and fees amount of ~$100 for a $550 booking. So right at the early morning of the checking day, i went to agoda and looked at the price to double check on the final price, unfortunately, the accidental swipe made a double booking (coz agoda saved your previous search so the booking is same 3 adult-2double rooms-3nights for same Thu-Sun on May09-12.||Because the credit card didn't go through the security code entering step as it should (on my 1st booking and thanks to #agoda mobile friendly and tricky app somehow stored my card from my previous enter) So, i double booked this hotel. And i cancelled it right at the moment i realized i’ve double booked it. || So i asked this hotel about it and the receptionist said the hotel doesn't have authority to cancel it, only website i used have that authority. ||Then even i went through Agoda callcenter to help for cancellation process twice - but we got response from this hotel that says hotel cannot cancel one of my reservation even though it is double booking. |Coz of i’ve cancelled right after, my booking wont be avail for stay either refundable, i’d agree to get Agoda help to re-open my booking - which is becomes one of the reason from next response of the hotel staff that they cannot make any cancellation on my booking without penalty- so which is clearly that they can, but yes, i’ve replied accepted on the penalty but the latest response was inly allowing me to postpone the staying date. ||So, I’m also a host on Agoda and other booking agencies partner previously, And also from Agoda callcenter explanation, plus I’ve checked everywhere else on the internet bout double booking non refundable situations and found out that every hotel canceled it for their customers since it is not like I'm not going to for this Hotel. |And i’m now have to find someone to take over my double booking - if not, i’m going to pay total almost $1200 for 3 nights stay. And obviously Agoda has failed in managing and working with merchant on this case and both unauthorized getting your credit card security confirmarion code and taking full responsibility for this kind of situation, looking on #tripadvisor, I’m not the only facing this issue. |Recommended you to go check oftenly and manually removed your saved card from #agodamobileapp and #agoda website for your own safety. ||(I have all ss but couldn’t...

This is my third time staying at the hotel. Previously, I did not do a review because many reviewers have stated it was very dated but clean. But this time I want to put it here and maybe help someone out there to make some informed decisions.||||One of the reasons we stayed at this hotel because of convenience, we are within walking distance to our relative residence.||||This year we were given a lower floor and they have wood flooring. Previously, we stayed on the higher floor, it was all carpet and the carpet is not very clean looking.||||Dated - Yes, they do need to refurbished the hotel. But it was very clean. ||||From Airport to Hotel - you can take bus number 5201 from Evergreen bus company. It will stop at Zhong Xiao Fuxing MRT station. A 5 minute walk around the corner to the hotel. When you are heading to the Airport, go to the same bus stop and wait for the Bus because they do a loop route. Price if I am not wrong is $110 NT dollar one way. ||||Food - most of the hotel in Taipei have restaurants within walking distance. Plus, there is SOGO department store just across the street and Starbuck within a 10 minute walk. ||||Room - Dated but clean. Big closet. Have Hair dryer, Fridge, Luggage and other amenities. The room size is bigger than other similar price range hotel. ||||NOTE: the hotel still uses KEY to open the door. NO digital card. NO safe deposit Box inside the room. ||||Electrical jacks - about 3 or 4. If you have many gadgets to charge, bring a power strip or those multiple USB jacks.||||Coffee - 24 hours free coffee at their Business Centre room. ||||Wifi - I did not ask or use it because I use a Hong Kong roaming DATA sim card. So, I can't comment on that.||||Breakfast - My father-in-law likes their breakfast. Bread, Coffee, Sausages, Porridge, Vege, Mantou, Cereal and Yogurt. Plus, they custom cook you egg. From sunny side up to scramble egg.||||Laundry Machine - there one at the breakfast area. One washer and one dryer. You need to pay. ||||My final thought, I have no complaint. I booked this hotel from 12/29~1/1|| Because the credit card didn't go through and sent me text message later, i double booked this hotel at the same date.|| So i asked this hotel about it and one of clerk says Hotel doesn't have authority to cancel it, only website i used have that authority.|| But i got an e-mail from this hotel that says hotel cannot cancel one of my reservation even though it is double booking.| |This was not one time thing actually, clerk including catalina kept lying to me about that authority and didnt get me through to their manager saying that they don't know their name and list.||So i looked everywhere on the internet about double booking non refundable situations and found out that every hotel canceled it for their customers since it is not like I'm not going.||So i keep trying to contact hotel but they avoided my calls and my friend's calls on purpose. I know this because when i tried with my mom's phone, they picked it up right away.|| Three day staying is not short definitely and especially around these seasons.
