Really love this hotel and it’s located at the heart of the city . There are 2 SOGO departments store nearby . And the MRT station (brown line) is just 2 mins walking distance. There are plenty of food , and shops around here and it is very convenient. The room is super clean and spacious . I can put 1 big bag 28” and 2 small bag 20” inside the room and still have space to walk around . There are 24 hours beverage services outside the room at the lounge area at each floor .You can have coffee and tea all day long . The laundry area is at level 14 which is at the reception area but the dryer is not hot enough to dry my thick clothes such as jeans and jacket . You might need to go for a few rounds to dry it and each round coat $10 for about 20 mins . The water pressure is good and hot enough on a cold weather . Don’t forget to inform the housekeeping or the receptionist if you want your room to be cleaned daily . Otherwise they will not clean your room but will replace the bath towels for you instead . We arranged airport transfer service with the hotel and it cost $1200 per trip and the driver is very helpful and polite . It took us about 30 mins to arrive to the airport from the hotel on Wednesday at about 12pm . They don’t provide iron in the room so perhaps you might need to ask from the counter if you need one . The only thing slack about this hotel is no breakfast available . Other than that , everything is good . The hotel staff are friendly and nice and they can speak good English . They provide umbrella for rainy days use . We highly recommend this hotel if you are...
Read moreThe good of this hotel that the service was really good. The reception staff, the house keeping team were all really friendly and helpful with any questions you have.
The hotel is also at a great location which is walkable to many shops & restaurants. It is also clean.
However, there are definitely some areas to improve on.
There was no power plug next to the bed and there was only 2 power plug in the entire room. Making it quite challenging to charge all the devices that 2 pax might have.
The hotel is actually located in a really old building that also houses some offices, and other hotels. It can be really hard to find the entrance as it is quite obscure.
Also, the hotel occupies 2 levels of the building.
It is a real struggle to get the right water temperature for showering. Upon check in, we couldn’t get any hot water and called the reception for help. The lady came and solve it for us running the water for a long time (at least 15 mins) before it started turning warm. Even after so, it was hard to get the right temperature. It was either too hot or too cold.
There is no mirror other than bathroom which can be inconvenient if 2 is sharing a room.
There was free Wifi but it was slow.
Weak hair dryer
If you are looking for more comfort, it might not be a place for you. But if you are looking for a basic, clean, friendly hotel at a good location - this can be a good choice.
Oh! And we could the room with the Taipei 101 view for the parents, but unfortunately it was slightly blocked by the water tank thou 101 can...
Read moreI had high expectations for a hotel located in such a great part of Taipei. The view from this hotel is great as is the location. Unfortunately, all employees that I encountered were unbearably rude. While they do speak some English and I speak Chinese, the language barrier is not the issue. The issue is simply their attitude and distaste for people of a different background. It is simply unacceptable. I had booked two separate reservations because I had extended my trip in Taiwan. I ended up having to cancel the second reservation due to the disrespectful demeanor of the man at the front desk, upon my asking to confirm that very reservation. I asked him if it was the same or a different room and he quickly became very aggressive and told me that of course it’s a different room, what kind of place do I think this is? He also told me that I can’t just get a nice view for free. Umm, I am paying a lot of money for this place either way. I also asked out of curiosity if it was going to be on the same floor (there are only 2 floors 13-14). He scolded me and questioned why I wondered. He rolled his eyes and gave a dirty look, saying that if being in the 13th floor is supposedly my need, I can try to request it but he is sure they won’t give it to me. When I questioned him about his rude demeanor, all he said was: Thank you, goodbye. All of this is on top of checking into a dirty room with scary bugs crawling all over. Please note my photo. I must admit, Eastin Hotel Taipei has ruined my whole 10 day...
