Sogo Apartment — Hotel in Taipei

Service: ||We check-in after 7pm, so they arrange auto check-in for us, which is very convenient.||||A bottle of mineral water for each person is very basic for an accommodation. But we only saw 1 bottle in the room during check-in, so I asked the person in charge, she told me that SogoHouse will only provide 1 bottle of water no matter how many person is in the room, no matter how many days you plan to stay, even if I paid the extra headcharge for 4 days.||(feeling unbalance when you paid for the extra head charge, but not getting any of the service.)||||We don't mind if they not providing housekeeping service, but at least change the towels as what you mentioned during check-in, the person in charge said that housekeeping service is 2 days a time (I'm ok with that), and towels will get change every 2 days also. (we stayed for 4 days, but she not even change the towels for us.)||||They have a storeroom to keep your luggages there until 6pm, kindly ask the person in charge at the counter of the main entrance.||||Hygience: ||We saw a few cockroaches inside the cupboard of the minibar, and she helps us to throw the big cockroach but not the small one. We dare not to open that cupboard anymore, because our bed is just beside it.||||Location:||The location is great, it's located between ZhongXiao Fu Xing MRT(忠孝复兴站) and ZhongXiao Dun Hua MRT(忠孝敦化站). Just a few step to reach shoplots and foodstalls.||||Room:||The family room as published is just same as a double room, the different is they squeezed in 2 single bed (not the super single) beside it. ||Total of 1 queen size bed + 2 single bed for 5 pax.||||End up we have no space to walk around after we put our luggages as the room only meant to stay for 2, our luggages were considered quite less if compared to other travellers. (5 persons only 4 luggages, which is 2 cabin size and 2 medium size)||||They provided the washing machine but not the detergent, we tried so hard to find the economy pack around the area but couldn't get, including 顶好市场 (Ding Hao market), 7-11, familymart,||and since the "family room" is packed and small, we have very limited space to place the rack to hang our towels.||||We can't even walk in the room, while we only get to crawl the bed. =_=||||Room Service:||Meal/Breakfast is not provided.||Does not provide any room service as this is just a hostel (民宿). ||||Conclusion:||It's ok to stay their double room for short period, but not the family room.||We spent 9 days in Taiwan, SogoHouse is the winner of the worst accommodation.||||Hope my review helps...

we stayed there for four nights. The room was way too small, different from the pictures we saw while making booking. There was no reception whatsoever, so everything was self-service. It was tucked away on the top floor of a residential building, with no lift. you have to climb to the 5th floor, not good if you have lots of luggage. ||||You room can only be seen after going through the main gate at the ground floor, another two more security doors on the 5th floor. On our day of arrival ,they left the main door key in a safe box locked with a password. when we reached the 5th floor, we couldn't get in because they have not left the key for that door in the box. It was only after 3 trips of running up and own the stairs that we got them to come and sort things out. In the end they realised they've left the key inside our room. stranded outside the hostel for 20 mins in the hot and stuffy stairway. Very unpleasant experience. ||||They made up for it by giving us extra bottles of water and tissue. That's it. No breakfast, room was not thoroughly cleaned when we arrive. the bedsheets has hairs on it, and smelled. we moved to another hotel after 4 nights, and stayed in that new place for three nights. Had to adjust location on map to be correct. Killed 10, yes ten, cockroaches whilst staying for 11 days. Bathroom is a death trap with washing machine sitting in standing water after a shower. Make sure you unplug it before showering. Bedding was stained and definitely well past it's life. Air conditioning barely kept room cool enough - had to supplement it with a fan most of the time. Don't bother trying to call the phone number if you don't speak Mandarin - even though they claim to speak English on various booking websites. Single towel, never changed for entire stay. Won't...
