Sun Moon Lake Hotel — Hotel in Yuchi Township

First time and probably last time there. We booked for 4 with 2 big beds and we got 2 small beds but we didn’t complain and asked for extra mattress for the kids to sleep on the floor. We got kind of camping thickness ones but then we had to ask for pillow because they didn’t think it should go with the mattresses then we also had to ask for sheets. We ended up pushing the real beds together to all sleep in them because the extra ones were crappy and the floor was not that clean. The back of the tv has probably never seen a mop or a duster because this is a pile of dust hidden behind and we also didn’t want anyone to sleep under that or under the ac vent that is exactly the same but I forgot to take a photo of it. Sleeping all together was finally way better. The bathroom is nice with a big onsen bath but that bath is very loud when it is emptying. It sounds like a monster ahah we had 2 cups and 2 towels for 4. They have lights all around the room during the night so take a sleeping mask if the light bothers you as there is a switch panel with 4 bright blue buttons, the ac control next to the main door that stays on all the time unless you turn it fully off but then you die of heat ahah there is also the smoke detector with the red light right above the beds instead of putting it a bit further… The room was quiet even though we were facing the street. For sure try to get the ones facing the back as it is prettier and with balconies. The restaurant is good and service is fast. In the morning the bf buffet was also good and...

It was a really nice experience staying at this hotel. It was very easy to find and the instructions they give you for check in are clear and easy to follow. The service and attitude of the staff was professional and courteous even though they were rather young. The appearance of the building, facilities, and rooms are a little bit old but in excellent condition and are clean, comfortable, and well maintained. There is a complementary breakfast buffet included which is good. We stayed in a family suite with a beautiful lake view that had all the regular amenities and also a large hot tub suitable for two adults and a small Japanese style dining area. Additionally the room had a voice command AI system for activating various parts of the room such as lights, tv, etc. The restaurant had a set menu for dinner and for the two person option you received enough food for at least 3 adults. The food was tasty and well prepared and also delivered to the table quickly with excellent service. There is also an indoor recreation area which had ping pong, air hockey, a pool table, and coin operated basketball games. There are also complementary bicycles for you to explore the area which is conveniently connected to an excellent biking path around a good portion of the lake itself. Even though the price is a bit high, you will not be disappointed by your stay here and I will definitely stay here again for next year’s Soon Moon...

The hotel is situated above Sun Moon Lake with fantastic view if you booked the lake view room but the room charge is quite expensive for this room type. The hotel is quite old. The room is spacious and the bed is comfortable. However the room lights are a bit dim. It is a bit irritating to take a bath because the water pressure of the bathroom is very low. Check-in process is smooth. There is no luggage rack in the room. When we asked for it, the staff told us to put the luggage on the floor as no luggage rack was provided. We asked for two additional hairs to put on our luggages, the staff told us additional chairs might not available. We insisted not to put our luggage on the floor as it is hard for the senior to pack the things in the luggage. Finally, the hotel provided us the required luggage rack. We asked for two additional blankets. Again, the reception staff replied only one blanket could be provided and if we wanted to have additional one, we needed to call again later. We booked two rooms and asked for two additional blankets are reasonable. At last we called two times for two additional blankets. Breakfast was ok but lack of staff to refill the food, even no spoon was provided despite our several requests. We would consider booking other hotel if we come back to visit Moon...
