湖光軒 The Lakeview Chinese Restaurant — Restaurant in Yuchi Township

If you are looking to have a nice meal with a spectacular view this is a great choice. The restaurant is located in the lower floor of the Lalu hotel, which sits on top of a hill overlooking the Sun Moon Lake. The backdrop of the lake and the mountains is really breathtaking and the vantage point from the hotel is one of the best. The food showcases Chinese food from various regions as well as highlighting some local ingredients. Food here is excellent and is a good value for the quality. The hotel does have a minimum charge per person of 1000 NTD and there is 10% service charge.

The dongpo pork is the house specialty. The braised fatty pork belly is paired with sesame buns. This dish is really decadent and the pork is melt in your mouth tender. This is a must order if you come here.

The bamboo shoots and cashew nut pastry we’re also really fantastic. The cashew nut pastry was my favorite of the meal. The playfulness of the dish combined with the delicate savory pastry will be what I remember most of the meal. The Lakeview Chinese Restaurant is the Chinese restaurant of the famous Lalu Sun Moon Lake Hotel in Nantou, Taiwan. Online reservation is straightforward. There is a minimum charge of NT$ 1,000/person for lunch, and guests are encouraged to pre-order signature dishes. The restaurant is very spacious and elegant. The minimal interior decoration ensures diners can focus on the everchanging view of the Sun Moon Lake. Servers are polite and accommodating. Food prepared with local ingredients is of good quality and reasonably priced. Food was great and the table service excellent. We really enjoyed it. Had the prix fixe 8 course dinner @1800. per person. When the bill came we gave 4,700 directly to the waiter (30% tip). 5 minutes later we got up to leave. At the elevator two attendants stopped us from getting in. One went back and forth from the restaurant and 3 or 4 minutes later she finally said ok you can go now. Sorry even excellent table service can't make up for this shoddy reception area treatment.
