This is about the Chinese restaurant that was in the hotel. We came around 5PM for takeout. Service was excellent and quick. When we left it was raining and one of the staff was kind enough to shelter us under an umbrella to the car. This was done voluntarily, we did not ask for it. Restaurant was clean and in good order. The food, however, was BLAND! I hate writing such a negative review after the excellent service that we received, but it is true. Among other things, I ordered vegetable fried rice, which is safe in just about every Chinese restaurant I have ever been in. The texture was good, a little greasy but tolerable. But there was no taste to it. The same could be said about the vegetable fried noodles that my wife ordered. We ordered shrimp stir-fry, which was rescued by the shrimp only. We are both Americans so maybe they held back too much because we are known not to tolerate very spicy food. But I think they may have held back too much if that was the purpose. We might give them a second try (everyone has an off day) but it may be a while. Addendum: food portions decent, prices reasonable, with the service is why...
Read moreReliably fantastic! We come here at least once a week and the owner Chen never disappoints. Great price and portions. Food is authentic, though if you are Western make sure to tell them not to hold back on the spice. The grounds are beautiful and the hotel rooms stellar. Attentive and nice staff as well.
Chen is a very nice guy, be sure to say hi to him...
