People either really have low standards or the majority of these so-called positive reviews are fake! While this is not the worst hotel in the world, it really does leave a hell of a lot to be desired and does not warrant 2 stars let alone the 3star hotel it claims to be! We checked in very late on a Friday night and again while the room was very basic and far from what was shown in pictures, it was just about bearable despite the insects we saw in the room! The next morning however, following an uninspiring breakfast where cleanliness and hygiene were clearly not a priority, we walked around the hotel and saw unclean swimming pools, litter all over the place and worst of all, the beach! It literally looks like a toxic waste site! (pics attached) Very little effort has been made to clean it, despite posters suggesting otherwise and pitifully blaming it on climate change! A walk further down the beach revealed two very nice hotels with pristine beaches, lots of modern amenities and most importantly, high standards of cleanliness/hygiene! Needless to say we promptly checked into one of those hotels that very morning, unprepared to spend another minute at Jangwani Sea Breeze. If you’re travelling from afar to TZ, like the American family we saw checking out I strongly recommend avoiding this hotel as it’s too far to travel to have to endure such...
Read moreI really wanted to like this resort The beachfront was clean and big The front desk personnel were just the nicest and most efficient staff. The same goes for the housekeepers Too bad I can't say the same for the dining room/restaurant staff. Twice I entered the restaurant both times I was ignored and finally someone came to greet me. At one of these times, I sat at a table, and finally, the bartender brought me a menu that was covered in food stains and crude it was disgusting. Because it was late (830ish), I went to my room and ordered room service. I didn't eat at the hotel again. I went down the street to the ramada to eat. I went to the bar area for a glass of wine. I sat down and waited and waited a gentleman sitting near me went and told the bartender I wanted service who then came and took my order. He came back and said they didn't have the wine I requested by the glass only by the bottle. So I said ok I will buy the bottle. He comes and shows me the bottle. I agree with it (I should have asked to see the menu). Well, the receipt came, and the bottle was 70000 tzs, which is about 25.00usd. In addition the duvet smelled terrible and was obviously dirty. The housekeeper changed it after she smelled it also. This place could be so much better. The unprofessional staff in the restaurant and the dirty linen was ridiculous and...
Read moreWe booked a suite with a jacuzzi for two nights and had a very pleasant stay at this resort. The room was spacious and well-equipped, with a large comfortable bed, two bathrooms, a kitchenette, and a TV with Netflix. The decor was nice, and the staff were responsive, friendly, and welcoming. The breakfast was good, with a lot of good choices.
Points for improvement: The hotel restaurant, located just across the street, was disappointing. We ate there twice and found the food quality to be mediocre. For the rest of our stay, we opted for delivery from places like Subway and KFC, which were easily accessible and honestly better.
The spa experience was, unfortunately, very disappointing. We had booked two massages to end our stay: a one-hour Swedish massage and a 30-minute back and shoulder massage. In the end, the first massage lasted only 20 minutes and the second just 9 minutes — even though we had confirmed the duration with the therapist five minutes beforehand. The quality of the massage was very poor — probably the worst we've had since arriving in Tanzania. Hygiene was also an issue: no towels were changed between the two sessions, and several towels had visible stains.
It’s a shame, because the resort has a lot of potential. Despite these negative points, we still enjoyed our stay and hope these issues will be addressed...
