Nice experience at the Landmark. It’s in a beautiful setting and relaxed area about 30 minutes from the hustle and bustle of downtown. The pool is great and the sea here has a sandbar extending almost 100m out, great for wading into the ocean, the sea isn’t 100% free of human cultural debris but that’s to be expected this close to a major city. Rooms are fine, bed cozy and nice shower water pressure. AC was broken for first two nights of our stay but I was quite impressed with the staff, they were responsive, sent technician to our room, turned out to be larger problem on the whole floor but, dealt with professionally and as a business owner myself I know that things happen, things don’t always work 100% of the time, but it’s how you respond to adversity that matters most and staff was great. Kevin on the front door is charming and friendly, has some great stories from his time as African long haul truck driver. Young man “junior” one of the waiters was our favorite, really sweet and shy but wonderful service. And Sabina on the front desk dealt with our requests and the AC issue with tact and aplomb. A couple things to note; there’s a large resident Corvid population which I found entertaining and I love crows and ravens so, happy to have them. But they’re intelligent, curious birds so just don’t leave any small jewelry, small watches, etc laying around while swimming in the pool. Also some roaches in the bathroom at night in our room. Nothing like “awful infestation” just a couple scurrying, and they were very small, but if you can’t handle that, just be warned. But I mean, you’re in Africa, my advice, roll with it and have a...

One of the most horrible service recieved Checked in yesterday with family and water was not available (2 hours+) we were told technical issue please be patience 5 minutes which transgressed to 2 hours. The staff were extremely impolite no one ever greeted any of us and each and every complaint we had was just ignored and we kept getting told we are coming to sort this or that issue. (FALSE HOPES) We checked into 2 rooms both TV'S and both balcony lights were not working! We complained about these issues since 10 am. At 12 am at night is when one of the room's TV was replaced and then we could not watch TV at that time we wanted to watch TV earlier obviously also the balcony lights were just for show and needed to get replaced. How is that my issue. You pay for a room you expect everything to be fully functional and worth the full experience you pay for At the end before checking out I spoke to the manager of the one who deals with all the rooms who was extremely unprofessional and told me in conclusion we will call the fundis and check out our lights and TVs and get them sorted one of the rooms you have already replaced the TV at midnight the other you did not give us the remote for it. Finally she didn't want us to get compensated with anything for this horrible experience and poor customer service instead I asked her what can you do to help me with this poor experience she replied me I can't help you with anything I'll just improve on the maintenance of the rooms how would that benefit me what kind of hotel is this!? Would not recommend in terms of customer service and...

The common areas are great, as is the outdoor space on the beach and bar. Food (buffet breakfast and restaurant meals) were pretty good for the price. Our room was okay, comfortable bed and nice size. The floors were filthy from our first steps inside. The bottom of my feet were dark brown within a step or two in our room. The balcony was also filthy, with obviously months if not years of dust and grime caked up including on the outdoor furniture. Our shower was clogged to the extent it flooded the bathroom each shower. We flagged this repeatedly with the front desk (3 times over our 3 day stay). Each time we were promised they would fix or move our room but they never actually did anything. We also did not get our room cleaned the whole stay, despite leaving the clean request outside our door and asking reception directly. One day the cleaner moved the clean request back inside and only replaced two towels rather than do any cleaning. This hotel is definitely not 4 star as advertised on our booking platform but was a pretty good value for the cost/location/outdoor amenities if you ignore the cleanliness and customer...

Stayed in this top hotel for 2 nights and had the joy of being robbed. Went down for breakfast one morning went back to my room 20 mins later to discover my door had been completely smashed down and my valuables taken. My room was next to the stairs leading down to the reception and administration offices but no-one heard my door being smashed down? I had to tell them to review their CCTV and when they eventually did they discovered that the gentlemen who smashed my door down was the guest next door to my door? How convenient who checked him right next to my room? And when they found out it was him he had already checked out. Someone maybe gave him a head start? Prior to being robbed I noticed there was always lots of security there. But when I went to reception to report this crime no security could be found? Dear travelers it pains me to say this but AVOID this hotel.

experience is not the best.In the Internet there was no room, even though I have to go to the reception, I would answer the news manager, so I didn't see the Internet for a week. The room and the hotel in general need good repairs, everything is so old, the boiler is something, falling down, showering the water down, the sewer stinks, putting the towel at the face, immediately wanting to go. Good.Annesa soup with torn plates. Different cockroaches and ants run along the room. The staff must learn to serve guests. Then there is another special phenomenon, they were not particularly in a hurry to return the balance when asked where the balance begins to figure out all kinds of nonsense. What else I notice, the staff laughs behind the client. I do not recommend staying in this hotel. The only thing that is good is the view from the balcony.

The hotel is located in a well sought after suburb in Dar es Salaam. The quality of the hotel's finishers is a far cry from from the 4-star establishment it claims to be e.g. there are no measures put in place to curb the mosquito problem common to the area, besides the mosquito nets. Other than that you will get bitten either in the lift, dinning hall or in the reception. The private beach it's located on has litter on the beach making it a health and safety risk for bathers. The staff try very hard to provide the best service possible but it's unfortunate that their efforts are tainted by the lack overall quality of the establishment. It's 4 star rating needs to be revisited.
