I am writing to express my dissatisfaction with the service I received during my recent stay at Best Western Chatuchak. I believe it is important to bring these issues to your attention to prevent similar incidents in the future. Upon check-in, I informed the staff that I did not have a fixed check-out date due to my uncertain schedule. Despite this, the staff entered a check-out date of Friday, the 12th in your system. I was notified about this only on the day itself, which caused significant inconvenience as I was out of town at the time. The staff called me around noon on Friday, informing me that I needed to vacate the room immediately. Given my location, it was impossible for me to comply right away. While I appreciate being informed about the check-out date, I expected your staff to exercise some human sense and either extend the check-out date or call to discuss and confirm with me beforehand. Instead, I had to request the staff to speak with the manager, which resulted in a prolonged delay and multiple follow-up calls from my end. This lack of proactive service was quite disappointing. Additionally, when it was time to move from my current room to a downgraded room on the 4th floor, I had to make several calls to get assistance with moving my belongings. The lack of communication and proactive support from your staff was extremely frustrating and unprofessional. To compound the issue, during this entire ordeal, the hotel did not reach out to offer any form of compensation for the inconvenience caused. This lack of initiative to remedy the situation left me feeling undervalued as a guest. Overall, my experience was marred by poor communication, a lack of proactive service, and significant inconvenience. I expected a much higher standard of service from Best Western and am deeply disappointed by how these situations were handled. I hope you will address these issues with your team to ensure that other guests do not have to face similar problems in the future. I look forward to hearing how you plan to improve your service to prevent...
Read more3.5 Clean nice rooms, a bit pricy. Right next to the weekend market and a few other things, but likely not the location most tourists are going to want for long. While the transit line is near, there isn't that much else to see and it's pretty far from other tourist attractions such as the main temples and downtown. It's not in a walkable location.
Breakfast is fine, about what you’d expect. Nothing great. Went to the egg station for 40 seconds and they took my newly prepared salad plate so be careful with that. Actually idk if they have high turnover or what but some of the staff doesn’t seem to know what they’re doing. Check in took forever and required assistance. The breakfast staff was dropping trays or getting upset when I had to pay because my breakfast wasn’t included and then switching people to handle payment. I noticed some unprofessional light PDA. (Petting) One of my towels was pretty badly stained. The wifi is down for a few hours.. pretty annoying when I need information for my trip and I’m paying for data. A layer of dust in the AC intake
Also, finding dinner around here can be frustrating. The restaurant in the hotel closes at six and that’s the only food directly near. Otherwise you are pretty much going to walk towards the market every night.
Specifically told the people "no clean today no clean". They say okay and seem to understand. Come back and once again my change is gone, the bed is made, items moved around or gone. Probably misunderstood? I think this is the first place I've ever been that doesn't have physical signal "Do not disturb" because I just prefer that.
90% sure they refill the water themselves. They collect the bottles and there are what appears to be calcifications on them or just scratches etc.
Pros Great AC, room is mostly quiet and dark at night, and the bed and pillows are very comfortable! The bar and lobby are both great areas
Be careful when ordering a ride as my location defaulted to a weird spot and they had trouble...
Read moreNear to Chatuchak and opposite OrTorKor market if that's where you'd like to visit. Otherwise this hotel is a short walk from Kamphaeng Phet Metro Station which takes you down to Sukhumvit the long way or to the nearest BTS Station at Mochit. From there, it's about 45 min to Siam and the vicinity.
No bath tubs, no pool, a room service that you need to order in person (closes at 10pm) and a simple massage spa you have to book at the counter. (Look for Aord - she's good)
Walls are thin, so best to keep your voice or TV down in the room. My neighbours were still talking loudly after midnight so I knocked on the wall to let them know I could hear them. They were nice enough to tone down.
I was sus about security. I came back to my room to find my safe opened. I didn't want to make a big deal about it as it was my first night, so I let it go. Also - Housekeeping should NOT leave room doors closed while cleaning. Trolley should be placed outside the room door to indicate service and to prevent others from entering. This is a hospitality standard to maintain security that was not adhered to here
Please take extra caution for yourself especially if you are travelling alone.
Fyi. Surrounding areas are very dark at night. Most shops close at 7pm.
For the price, this place is comfy and clean. I'd consider staying here again if I'm planning to visit JJ market. If not, I'd rather stay in Sukhumvit or Rajdamri to be near the major malls and tourist spots. I'm also going to keep all valuables on me whilst staying...
