Gai yang (BBQ chicken), somtam (papaya salad), and khao nao (sticky rice) is my fave trio of Thai dishes and I’m always looking out for new Issan restaurants to try.

A recent visit to the Thai immigration department, followed by a stop at the Or Tor Kor market, led me to this gai yang hotspot near the market.

What a discovery, the somtam was zingy, spicy, bright, and very fresh. The star was the gai yang which had a nice tumeric flavor and was BBQed over a charcoal grill to perfection. We also loved their laab which was beautifully seasoned and spiced and garnished with a lot of mint.
