My wife (Thai) and I live in Chiang Mai, and wanted a special night out for the Valentines. From the time of booking, prices began to change. The dinner price doubled, because of the holiday. The room price doubled because we wanted to see the river. Then, the champion of rip-offs; The price of a local drink, which sells everywhere in Thailand for a maximum of 150 baht was put on our bill for 350 baht each, or 1,100 total! I was convinced this was a mistake, and tried to present this issue as just a simple misunderstanding. But this was not to be. I was read policy of this hotel, and taught never to question their logic or rules. I was an ignorant foreigner, looking for a cheap discount! Of course I didnt bother telling anyone that I was a retired General Manager for Intercontinental Hotels, with 25 years and 21 countries experience, since it would have further made me look cheap, needing to flash my CV in order to be treated like a human being. Lovely shower, clean and comfy beds with a nice balcony looking over the swimming pool and river. Great air conditioning, and coffee facilities. The location is stunning and is so peaceful with it being out of the main city. It only takes 5 mins to get into the night markets using a Grab costing about 100baht. |The breakfast is okay, and we managed to have something everyday, and they were so friendly. The rooms and the resort is tranquil and simply beautiful, however it does need a little updating, and touching up. They were doing some things whilst we were there.
