Peace Pause Place — Restaurant in Chiang Mai Province

I stayed at a hotel down the road and ended up eating here a few times -- it's a nice spot along a river - a great place to relax, catch up with friends, or for people looking for a quiet place with good food and coffee, it's a good place to sit with a book for a while.

The food is great -- I had both the northern Thai pork curry and the Khao Soi (another type of northern Thai curry) with deep fried pork. Both were delicious with some great flavors -- I've had these dishes in multiple places and this restaurant does solid, tasty renditions.

We also really enjoyed the coffee here -- it's apparent they take coffee seriously. There are many (many) coffee shops in Chiang Mai, but quality (plus location) helps Place Pause Peace stand out. Had the most relaxing experience a Restaurant/ Cafe could have ever provided. I know the place looks and feels like a nice coffee shop but don’t let that fool you. It’s also a restaurant!!

The food here tasted clean (good quality ingredients) and very delicious. As a Thai, i definitely recommend their creamy omelette over rice style dishes (very creamy and the balance of spiciness from their dipping sauce is very good also). My Gf had the shrimp omelette rice dish which is also wonderful.

They also sell various types of canvas for you to paint and let your imagination shine. While you enjoy the nice view of the Ping river. (Dolls, big/mid/small canvas, key chains, and etc.)

Staffs there are also very nice and polite. The cashier smiled ever since we arrived until we left.

Definitely worth coming...

Had a simple but delicious lunch here beside the Ping River - cool gentle breeze blowing after a rain shower earlier this morning. Staff are polite and friendly.
