Being treated really RUDE by the staff named Ting and a Malaysian manager(don’t know name, a man with long hair) when check in at reception. I book two rooms with two nights, from the time I step into the hotel, there is No smile and No hello….when I say I need to check in to staff “Ting”,the lady didn’t offer any respond, still looking at computer and asked me to show her my voucher,  in the wording of “Ding Dan “. After I show her voucher, she ask me to send my voucher to their hotel email. I ask why, she seems like very unpleasant and inpatient and suddenly left, and come back with the Malaysian manger who is even more rude than Ting and shout at me with no reason. Firstly, Why a hotel ask traveller to send their voucher to hotel email at Lobby? !This is the fourth time I’m in Thailand I never met this, as long as the hotel must have my booking at system and even I already show their my voucher in phone…Say how about traveler don’t have internet at the first day, how to send a email right away?! But it’s not about what they asked me to do, it’s all about their rudeness!!!! Also when I left, no bellman help to carry luggage, they prefer to carry small talk instead of doing their job. If say your hotel “ask every guest to send their pdf voucher to Hotel email at hotel lobby is a standard process for check in”, then I suggest the hotel to review your efficiency and working process as No other hotel is running like this low efficiency today. That’s why I give only 2 star to service as others local staff are nice. Besides above, the hotel facility and location is GOOD and suitable for family travel.

We stayed at Sunwing Kamala Beach for 17 nights in August 2025 in a two-bedroom family room and couldn’t have been happier with our choice. Having previously stayed in lively Patong, we wanted a quieter, beachfront resort this time – and Sunwing truly delivered, exceeding our expectations. The room was spacious, with plenty of wardrobe hangers, ample storage space, and fresh towels and linen provided regularly. We opted for full board dining, expecting convenience, but were pleasantly surprised by the variety and quality of food in Som’s Kitchen. The menu covered everything – authentic Thai dishes, pasta, pizza, burgers, steaks, and salads – plus a great selection of desserts. Breakfast was equally impressive, with a wide choice of hot and cold buffet items, constantly replenished. The only area for improvement would be the coffee. While the range of options was good, the base coffee was very strong. A choice of strengths would be ideal, though we managed by topping up the filter coffee with hot water to make a medium Americano. The pools were spotless, with eight to choose from, meaning there was always a quiet spot to relax (at least in August – can’t comment on peak season). The gym was clean and functional with enough equipment for a decent workout, and though I missed the Pilates class, swimming in the pool made up for it. Staff throughout the resort were outstanding – always smiling, welcoming, and ready to help. If only all guests showed them the same courtesy! All in all, a fantastic resort – ideal for both couples and families – and one we would happily return to.

We have a wonderful time at Sunwing Kamala Beach. The rooms are big and well cleaned everyday. Staff is super friendly and welcome. The swimming pools are amazing with nice gardens around so perfect for chill out while kids enjoy the slides. Also a nice pool bar with good options and with very friendly staff and professional massage just beside the pools. We spent 10 days at the hotel with my 3 years old daughter. They have in most of all evenings Lollo e Bernie show or also some other show for adults later evening. The kids love the mini disco and the Ted's shows. The hotel is just in front of the beach where you can find lots of options of restaurants and a 7 eleven mkt just 10 mins walk from there. We have booked the tours outside of the hotel because they were cheaper and we have visited the Wild Elephant Sanctuary, recommended and Phi phi Island and Maya Bay with Andaman Surprise Phuket highly recommend this adventure with kids over 3 yrs ;)

We stayed at the Sunwing Kamala Beach Hotel for 7 nights with our daughter, and overall, we were very satisfied. While there are a few areas where there is room for improvement, the hotel is great for families. We had a wonderful time, and it exceeded our expectations in many ways. Let me start with the "negative" aspects, though they are minor in the grand scheme of things.

Breakfast was decent, but there’s some room for improvement. There is a lot of choice, especially salads and fruit, and the live soup station is a great touch, but the food selection was almost identical every day. While everyone can probably find something for themselves here, the quality of food — bread and pastries — might be better. It would have been nice to have a live egg station or individual yogurt packs. However, the breakfast setting was pleasant, close to the pool. While there is no AC in the breakfast room, there are ceiling fans, and it was very comfortable, at least for us (we usually have breakfast around 7-8 AM, when there is still no heat). Where the food is kept, there is AC, so there’s no fear of spoilage.

We had lunch at the Fino restaurant by the beach, and the food was rather good. If you come before 5 PM, they have a lunch menu, which is less expensive than dinner, which is served after 5 PM. Kids eat free with a paying adult.

The pools were fantastic. There are 8 pools in total. Most of them are quite spacious, so none was overcrowded, and there are lots of sunbeds. There are 3 larger slides and a few smaller ones, which were great fun for our 6-year-old daughter. One of the pools is a children's pool with a shade tent. There is also a pool bar, which was quite popular, and there was pool basketball and volleyball. The pools are open from 8 AM until 8 PM, and the towel-changing service is available from 9 AM until 7 PM. There are two massage cabanas — one by the pool and the other close to the beach. The prices are more or less the same as in other places on the beach.

The beach was right in front of the hotel, making it very convenient. Stretching for about 2 km, it offers a relaxing atmosphere that made our long walks there quite enjoyable. There are bars and restaurants along the beach, which is a great option if you want to explore more dining choices or simply enjoy a drink by the water. We particularly loved watching the sunsets while having a drink there.

There is a kids' club and a children's playground. You can't leave kids there unsupervised, although you can pay additionally for babysitting. There is also aqua aerobics and some additional animation programs. There is an activity schedule on the hotel’s website. Also, it was nice to have a small store in the hotel.

Despite a few small areas for improvement, we had a great stay at this hotel, and it exceeded our expectations. The rooms are spacious and comfortable, though not luxurious — more simple and functional. The balcony was a very nice addition, offering a great view over the pools. The hotel grounds are well-maintained, with more greenery than what we had seen in the photos, and the hotel itself is very clean. The pools were amazing, and the beach was right in front of the hotel, which was so convenient. Overall, a...

We've just returned from a break at this hotel. We travelled from the UK and met up with my son and his family who live in Australia for a holiday together. The hotel was not full at all so was quite quiet. We had a pool access room which we loved. My son and his family had a Happy Baby studio which was also excellent. Breakfast was great with a really good selection of hot and cold food. We had lunch most days and the food again was excellent - recommend the stir fry chicken with cashew and the PIneapple fried rice. We didn't try the hotels Fino restaurant. It is located on the beach but the view is spoilt from the sunbeds stored right in front of it but the menu is the same as the main restaurant. We had massages at the hotel by the beach. Favourite for me was the full body coconut oil massage, very relaxing. The hotel is situated on the beach with a number of restaurants and bars just outside the hotel. We preferred to go out to these on an evening and finish off the evening sat on one of the chairs on the beach at Spicy Bar for a couple of Sangsom and cokes (Thai rum). Coconut beach restaurant was very good and I can highly recommend the Thai green curry served in a coconut! Also, Dengs restaurant was really good. They did the best cocktail - Mango Daiquiri, can't recommend enough! Also, they did a Poke bowl of Lemon or Satay chicken, really yummy. We visited Carnival magic over the road from the hotel. We couldn't believe how amazing it was!!!! Totally blew us away. We didn't do the buffet and would recommend that you don't. There is so much to see that you would miss if you go to the buffet. The parade, the show, the lights and best of all the toylets!!! Just go and see for yourself. We had an amazing holiday and can't stop talking about it. Hope we can return to Sunwing...
