Pros: location convenient for the restaurants, bridge, museum , graveyard and market; good size; room, good mattress, fridge , TV and aircon.||Cons: hot water in shower didn't work, bathroom and toilet partially open to the sky (and the mossies), and toilet/ shower obviously has no aircon, aircon in the bedroom took forever to cool it, there are no windows, breakfast is very poor (the worst to date in five weeks in Vietnam and Thailand) and the pool looks very uninviting. Staff speak very little English.||The oddest thing is the design and building of a hotel facing the river and the potential views and including no windows. The room walls and floor are polished concrete and with no windows this felt like a cave. When on the second day we pointed out that the shower wasn't working right, the receptionist had a look, said "sorry" and went away. We waited a while in the room but she never came back. We had cold showers and later, at reception, mentioned it again. The girl said we could change rooms but there was hardly much point as we were leaving in he morning. No discount was offered in respect of the shower. ||We visited and dined in the good time resort next door. Rooms there were roughly the same price and it is much much better. The dinner...
Read moreThis hotel is very new, actually it doesnt look as it is completly finished construction. They had rooms available for 1200 including 2 breakfasts/night. The rooms were clean, brand new towels and sheets, comfortable beds and some toiletries *shampoo, condition, tooth brush/paste etc). There was one tiny, high window in our room which was ok as we wanted to sleep in. || The breakfast was decent, consisting of toast, eggs, ham, sausages, onions and tomatoes, and rice soup with assorted toppings. It would be nice to have some fruit available for breakfast... maybe soon they will. Service was very nice, staff were smiling and willing to help. The pool didn't look very clean so we didnt swim in it. Great view of the river but what this hotel really needs a few more months to finish of the gardens as they were very barren and incomplete. They had very...
Read moreWe stayed 2 nights there with friends and for the price we paid the place was somehow ok. Our Rooms at ground floor were spacious but without window so you feel a bit living in a cave. The pillows could have been more soft and smaller to make sleeping more comfortable. The bathroom was huge and surprisingly bright. Otherwise the rooms were clean even they were not ready at 2 pm for check in. The pool is nice but the garden needs a clean up as some parts still look like work in progress with plenty of stuff laying around. Breakfast was ok with eggs, fruits and some rice soup. If you need a strong coffee to wake you up walk up the main street and then turn left to find Library Cafe. In general you will find plenty of restaurants and bars in the surrounding. Hope they work on some improvements as the place it self...
