Breakfast Breakfast at Hotel Sri Lanta is managed through an ordering system where guests fill out a form to select their food. However, this system has several issues. The fruit selection is limited to just two types, and guests cannot choose the type or amount of fruit, as it is served on a plate. This often leads to leftover fruit, which is not sustainable. For vegan guests, the options are disappointing, as they can only eat cornflakes and fruit. Compared to other hotels in the same price range, the breakfast is rather sparse, with limited choices, and guests cannot decide how much they want. Additionally, most of the food, such as pancakes, toast, or muffins, consists mainly of ready-made products.

Cleanliness The cleanliness of the hotel room left much to be desired. The shower area was particularly dirty, and it was clear that the shower walls had not been cleaned for a long time, with visible limescale buildup. The same condition was observed at the sink, and the drain was clogged, causing the water to drain slowly. The toilet was leaking, with water spilling both in the bathroom and the hallway, likely due to a broken pipe. The room was generally very damp and had a corresponding musty smell. The electrical outlets at the sink did not work, making it impossible to use a hairdryer. The pictures on the website appear to have been taken right after a renovation, which likely happened some time ago, as they do not match the current reality. Face towels were often missing, and we had to request fresh towels daily.

Staff The staff at Hotel Sri Lanta, compared to other hotels we have stayed in, were unfortunately inattentive and appeared disinterested. The overall service was lacking.

We didn't have the positive experiences others did on TripAdvisor. Likely, it's because the hotel asks for your feedback on an internal survey that isn't shared with the public and definitely is not acted upon. ||The positives first: the hotel staff is very friendly and hard working. The breakfast is good. The room was cleaned daily and in good shape. We got two massages here and the masseuses were excellent. ||Our room had an overwhelming smell of poop when we first arrived. We asked to be moved to another room and to their credit they did the next day. That room was an upgrade and was well cleaned by the staff. No poop smells.||The opportunities: the facilities are not in good shape. There aren't nearly enough lounge chairs for the guests both by the pool and on the beach. And those that are were generally in disrepair and couldn't be used. I'd estimate 30% of the lounge chairs were not usable, but left out to create hope (I suppose). This lead to frustration on our part. The guests also have to scramble every morning to claim their lounge chair. Which added to the frustration for other guests.||The pools have to be manually filtered for the water to be clear. We were hesitant to use them and only did when we saw other guests using them (herd mentality). I'll include a photo of how they manually clean them in the photos. Other hotels had pools that were perfectly clear and looked how pools should look. It can be done. They just don't do it here. ||In addition, we found a pool light that had been sat on the pool deck with an electric wire in the wire. Not safe. Obviously. ||The breakfast was good, but the dinner was not good. The food was not good. The food lacked flavor. We had Thai one night and another.. Skip any meal besides breakfast. We ventured out beyond the hotel and found excellent, excellent Thai food at a food stand. Take a right out of the hotel and it's around a half mile on the right. Amazing!!!!!||One day we came back to our room to find plaster in our bathroom sink. No one told us they were coming in to do work on the room and they certainly did not take the time to clean up their mess. ||I generally don't leave negative reviews, but our experience compelled me to leave a review about Srilanta. We overheard others complaining about their rooms to the General Manager.
