We had a wonderful time at THE FLOW. Stayed there for 14 nights and enjoyed every bit of it!
The advantages: the room is spacious. We had a pool villa and loved it for a quick cool down before going to sleep. cleaning and towel service - both for pool towels and shower towels- daily staff super friendly but never obtrusive. the infinity pool clean with perfect water temperature and a cozy pool area massage spots in the near vicinity and super cheap (11€/hr). several restaurants in walking distance. directly at the beach
Comment in reaction to other comments we found prior to our booking: the breakfast is really good. Yes, there is some repetition but what would you expect when staying there 14 nights? They serve fresh egg-dishes which are delicious and all the other options were nothing but tasty. We have not spotted one cockroach/spider or the like. Everything is super clean and well maintained. yes, the hotel is a bit remote. But only from the noisy streets. If you are well on your feet you will find restaurants/bars along the beach left and right. We enjoyed the tree house but also went to the nearby Maenam beach which has a lot of restaurants to offer. The only thing one has to consider are the tides - as the beach is partly flooded during high tide (nothing you can not conquer in your bathing clothes though).
Improvement options: It us really hard to be critical after 2 perfect and relaxing weeks. But as we want to give a holistic feedback, here our suggestions. what is really missing in the room, are hooks on the wall to hang (wet) clothes/ towels. towel service was daily. Which is of course quite luxurious. But in times of environmental issues we would not have needed the service (especially if we had had hooks to hang the towels for drying). the rooms are beautiful - no question! 2 small remarks: the first 7 nights we stayed in from 2007 which is located next to the pool pump. Not a major issue- but the pump was turned on every day at 6:00am and due to the thin walls between rooms, it got quite loud (however with monotonous noise). This is why we asked to change the room. Which was not a problem at all and done the same day. We were very lucky with our neighbors for 6 nights and it was really peaceful and quiet. However- in the last night we had some partying neighbors and, as said, the walls are thin. But, we guess that this was bad luck, as the target group of this hotel are rather couples/ young families than partying guys. And, it made leaving a bit easier 😅
If you are looking for a stylish but down to earth getaway, THE FLOW is your number one choice.
For now we are sad to get back to reality. But who knows, maybe one day we will get the chance...
Read moreFirstly they arranged a taxi to come and collect us from our previous hotel which was fine, driver turned up on time. However when we got there the lady on reception quite rudely asked us why we hadn’t paid the driver. We assumed as this had been arranged by them that it would get added to our room bill and we would pay at the end (like every other hotel!). The room layout is rubbish! The shower is behind a door but there’s nowhere for you to dry yourself unless you’re in the main room so every time you leave the shower the whole area near it is soaking wet and potentially dangerous as it’s so slippy! There’s also nowhere to hang your towels so we ended up draping them over the bath. On the first day housekeeping didn’t come til 5 - that’s usually fine by us but we’d ran out of drinking water and toilet roll so my partner went to reception to ask for more and he was handed a pack of tissues?! As she said they had no toilet roll! Very odd experience. Breakfast wasn’t the best either - you ordered off the menu but the portion sizes were so small you had to go back up and tick another sheet if you wanted more and if there’s more than 3 tables your food and drink will take ages and it’ll be cold! The water in the toilet and shower was also yellow even when you freshly flushed it and I washed my hair on the last day and the water left like a sticky/greasy residue on my hair and it took 5 washes to get it out. Overall not the best experience and for the price we paid you’d expect a lot more. The only good thing was the view - we had the sea view deluxe room and that’s what got this review 3 stars but I’d recommend finding another hotel with...
Read moreThis hotel was simply phenomenal one of the most stunning hotels on the island if you’re looking for a relaxing peaceful holiday this is the place to go. The staff are simply amazing and the food is incredible. The view from the pool are also to die for. We were greeted with a coconut ice cream on arrival which was a really nice touch Our room was clean and a view from our room was amazing. The swim pool is so handy when you just want a dip. The staff are always there on hand speaking great English to assist with any of your needs. They always have a smile on their face. |One thing to note this hotel is very remote and getting to the hotel means walking or driving on an extremely bumpy off-road track so bear that in mind when booking but don’t let that put you off |The room had complementary unlimited bottles of water at your request. Toilets were clean. Shower was also clean and the bed was extremely comfortable. |We had breakfast over the course of our stay. You can have fresh eggs to order any types you like and there is also a continental buffet available.|We had a really nice lunch and dinner at the flow it was great value. I highly recommend the beef stew Bolognese. It was sensational.||Overall, I would be running back to the flow and hope to book...
