From the moment you step into Namu Restaurant nestled within the W Koh Samui, you are transported into a world where Japanese culinary artistry meets tropical luxury. Our recent visit to Namu was nothing short of spectacular, where we indulged in the Kaiseki menu, a symphony of seasonal delicacies that tantalize the palate and present a feast for the senses.
The standout star of the menu for me was undoubtedly the Wagyu Sukiyaki featuring Wagyu A4 grade beef. Each slice of this exquisitely marbled meat was a testament to the chef's ability to source the finest ingredients. The sukiyaki was prepared with a finesse that allowed the beef to be irresistibly delicious, melting in the mouth with a richness that lingers long after the meal is over. It was an unforgettable highlight that showcases the pinnacle of Japanese comfort food.
Equally impressive was the Amadai Agedashi, a dish that featured the amadai tilefish. The fish was expertly fried to a perfect crisp while preserving its delicate flesh, making each bite an exquisite balance of texture and flavor. The agedashi preparation elevated the fish, imparting a subtle umami that complemented the natural sweetness of the amadai.
Service - 5/5 staff was professional, courteous, and genuinely friendly.
Drink - the sake that was part of our menu was enjoyable, even for someone like me who isn’t a sake aficionado.
This definitely one of the restaurant you need to visit when you’re...
Read moreDefinitely an amazing restaurant. We are staying at the W so we made a reservation and there was no issue and was never very packed.
We ordered quite a lot and even had my little cousin with us and they were very accommodating.
I will tell you my favorites of the night. Spicy tuna roll was the overall winner with the crispy rice coming in second.
The lobster udon was ok but a little too much spicy mayo for em but the noodles were cooked amazing and so was the lobster. overall a great try. the wagyu roll was a miss sadly.
Dessert was great and both offered something you might like. but lava was the winner.
The kids pasta with shrimp was good and we even got more chicken for him after and he loved it. The other carpaccio seafood was amazing and light.
The view i mean is insane! and catching it at sunset is unreal. and just that alone while eating is orgasmic.
If you’re on this side of the island or staying at the W it’s a must for a dinner out or a date.
going back tomorrow for another round! will post more photos and update this...
Read moreLocated inside the W hotel Namu is one of the few Japanese restaurants on Samui. I am not a guest at the hotel and only went there for dinner. The restaurant is some distance from the hotel lobby down at the beach but the hotel staff will take your in a golf cart from the lobby parking lot.
I was there in the evening so I could not see the beach but I imagine it would be beautiful during the day. It overlooks the Maenam beach.
The restaurant itself is not big and has an open kitchen.
The menu did not have a large number of items either but that is not necessarily a bad thing. It has several fusion items which were rather interesting like wasibi mash potatoes.
The sushi and sashimi items had all what you would expect, like salmon tuna hamaki. It was definitely fresh.
Overall this restaurant serves high quality japanese food.
The best thing though was the location and the service. The staff were very attentive and warm, and made you...
