Escape Restaurant — Restaurant in Ko Samui

I’m unfortunately having to leave a 1* review despite a previous positive experience at this restaurant. Incredibly unfriendly boss who, when I complained and said I was unhappy with the potion size of my (incredibly small) Panang curry, told me that she was “unhappy with me too”, and proceeded to engage in a very aggressive dialogue with me. My partners noodle dish was also average at best. It also took me several requests for our spring rolls to be delivered (which were very oily), which arrived after our mains. It was actually a really nice place. Good selection of all kinds of food & reasonably priced. Possibly a little much emphasis on western tastes & the portions were on the smaller size. Nice ambience & very picturesque. Great views of the islands off in the distance & beautiful blue/green water. Not the greatest sand to walk in, but overall, we enjoyed it. Getting there will involve a VERY steep uphill & downhill drive or walk around tight corners for about a hundred yards in each direction. Arrived around 8pm and ordered pizza and a beer. Food was nice but service is just ok. Waitress never came back to remove plates or ask if we wanted another drink or dessert. Looks like she is hiding behind a counter on her phone. Maybe they don't have a dessert menu anyway? Looks like I'll not find out.

Edit: Had breakfast here in the morning as I was staying at the hotel here and it was a better experience with different people doing the serving. Food made it the best breakfast of the trip so far so I'm increasing...
