E-san khrok yai — Restaurant in Surat Thani Province

This place is not a like any traditional street food stall you see on Koh Samui. They serve dishes from the north of Thailand like fried duck mouth, catfish, fried pig bone, pork neck, snake head fish .... But also the more custuom Thai dishes but with so much taste.

We ate fresh caught catfish and Talapia stuffed with delicious herbs baked on a grill.

Prices are amazing. Compared to better restaurants I prefer to eat...

Nice family run business (two brothers) authentic isaan. Sit inside the restaurant OR in a sala in a garden zone. Som Tum (papaya salad) gai yung (grilled chicken) fried chicken, laab, waterfall salad, nam jim (spicy sauce) it's all yummy. Often have the TV on showing boxing or music. Great Isaan food. Of course, you can't be in a hurry because Isaan food is slow food cooked to order and they don't like too many cooks so the flavor is consistent. Loved the grilled pork neck. My wife liked the Somtum platter, but you need to be an adventurous eater. Mostly Thai customers so rest assured that this is not overpriced...
