Best hostel I've been.
My stay here was great. I highly recommend it.
On Sundays there is a free family dinner that is delicious! We had barbeque pork, spring rolls, vegetables, fried rice, and fruit. The rest of the time, they had food and drinks to order. There was a happy hour for drinks (4-7pm).
There are lots of areas for activities, including: a pool table, a ping pong table, a basketball hoop and half court, a rooftop sala with hammocks, a field out back, yoga mats for guests to use, plenty of tables around with table-top games to play including chess, jenga, and so on, and probably more that I am forgetting.
There is wifi, free drinking water, free instant coffee, a microwave, and each bed in the dorm has a locker. You need to bring your own lock for the locker. Oh, and the shower had excellent hot water and good water pressure. In the dorm, the beds each have a curtain.
The atmosphere was friendly, easy-going, and fun. Pleasant all around. Everyone, including the other guests who stayed there, were all nice, as well as respectful of each other. It was not a party hostel, more of a chill hostel.
The staff were amazing. I ended up extending for a week, so I saw a lot. The women who work there are really kind and they do a great job. For example, I put my laundry out to dry and it started raining. The sweet ladies who work there took my clothes out of the rain for me so my clothes didn't get rained on. When one of the other guests had a sunburn they brought him aloe vera and helped him with it. They randomly came around and gave fresh fruit out for guests to eat. One guy skinned his knee before arriving to the hostel, and when he came in they brought a first aid kit and dressed the wound. I saw them go above and beyond for the guests many times.
For me, it checked all the boxes and then some. I loved all the activities available like the pool table, all the amenities (including the bar on-site), and the excellent service from all of the...

It’s not just a hostel, qit’s a home, a family, and a community of incredible people, run by the most welcoming staff who make you feel like you belong the second you arrive.
The outdoor space is spacious, comfortable, and full of life. Whether you want to chill in a hammock with a book, have great convos by the bonfire, or just soak up the good vibes at the bar, this place has it all. There’s even a lovely dog named River, who is super sweet.
The rooms? Perfect. Comfy beds, great showers, lockers, everything you need to be comfortable. It’s got all the amenities you could want, and the cleanliness is top-notch.
And then there’s Sunday night, family dinner & quiz night. A FREE home-cooked meal that brings everyone together like one big family. It’s easily one of the best nights of the week, full of laughter, great food, and a little friendly competition.
If you want to experience Pai at its best and stay in a place that feels like home, Misfits Hostel is the only choice. I’d give it 10 stars if I could. Can’t wait...
Read moreMisfits Hostel absolutely exceeded all my expectations. The rooms are spotless and super comfortable, with great air conditioning (a must in Pai!). There’s a really nice pool table and even a basketball court — perfect for chilling or meeting other travelers. The location is ideal too, just a short walk from town, so you’re close to all the action but far enough to enjoy some peace and quiet. The bar is always buzzing, with awesome happy hour deals that make it hard to leave. But the real highlight is the Sunday family dinner — seriously, don’t miss it. It’s free, and the food was hands down the best I’ve had anywhere in Asia. There’s a huge variety, more than enough for seconds (and thirds). It’s such a wholesome, communal vibe that makes everyone feel like family. What truly makes Misfits special, though, are the people. Pam and Ying are absolute legends — hilarious, warm, and genuinely some of the nicest humans you’ll ever meet. They go above and beyond to make sure everyone feels welcome and has an unforgettable stay. If you’re coming to Pai, don’t even think twice —...
