I hate to leave poor reviews, but felt it needed for this location. The worker was lovely, she was very kind and pleasant to be around, however the owner/management was pretty rude to us since the moment we got there. She also didn't not have records of our bookings readily available regardless of my having booked and paid for the room for 3 nights in mid January. I had to go onto my email to find our confirmation email before we were shown our room. Take the stairs if you stay here as the elevator has windows facing the sun and is stiflingly hot in the day, there is laundry on sight, but is cheaper to get done down the street as you are charged per clothing item. The balcony was large and was fairly shaded which was nice, but had no views.... but still enjoyed our morning coffee there. In reality our stay here was fine and there is lots of massage and food in the area, but waking up to small ant like creatures biting us and having rude management left a slightly bad taste in our mouth. Maybe she was having a bad week, I don't know, but like I said the staff was lovely and the room is a good size, but check the cabinets and bed frames for bugs...
Read moreWe stayed at R.K. Guesthouse for 6 weeks, from the end of November to the beginning of January.
What we liked: Spacious apartment with living room, bedroom, large balcony and small kitchen ¦ Nice furnishings in a rustic style ¦ Mosquito screens in the living room and bedroom so you can leave the windows open at night ¦ Ceiling fan in the living room for a pleasant indoor climate ¦ 20 m away from the noisy Nanai road, so you can also hear birds and not just engines.
What we liked less: High electricity price at 10B per unit ¦ Open kitchen in the neighboring house with very intense smells ¦ Covered outdoor area with table and benches that was sometimes used all night for private parties and didn't let us sleep well.
Overall, the price/performance ratio was pretty good - especially if you book directly. However, renting a motorcycle is recommended. Nanai Street is cool but too narrow to walk along and too far...

The owner "Ya" is one of the most unfriendly, unhelpful people I have ever met. She refused to address the problems. Extortionate charges for electricity. She also...
