If you’re looking for another place to stay in Pattaya then look no further - D Varee Jomtien beach along Jomtien beach is the place to be!!! Away from the busy and more expensive Pattaya beach hotels, this offers less crowd, affordability and complete relaxation away from the hustle and bustle of city and its traffic!!! We booked a Super Ocean View room for 2 nights via Agoda at 183 SGD++ per night with breakfast and we had a great, romantic and happy stay at this resort. Check-in was smooth at their luxurious and spacious lobby with lots of lounge chairs - they also have a in house cafe that offers Starbucks coffee - Gusto Yno!!! The only issue is their lift which is quite small with only 3 and busy for a fully booked hotel so please manage your time when booking here. We were booked on 18F here with a huge and spacious room and a spectacular view of the Gulf of Thailand!!! At 40 m2 it is one of the largest rooms we had in a hotel. An iconic place in Pattaya, boasting 38 storeys with White facade and cylindrical shapes of its balconies it is visible along Jomtien road from end to end. The flooring of the rooms change from White square tiles near the entrance/toilet area to Wooden style flooring in the bedroom and fine ochre gravel in the balcony. Upon entrance, there is mini-kitchenette on the right with a huge ref and lots of cabinets. They offer daily bottled water/coffee/tea with cups and kettle but no kitchen or table wares. On the left is the spacious toilet/tub, with a more beautiful tilings than the entrance - shades of White and Earthy tones. The toilet has big tub enough to fit a 6 footer and water heating and pressure is working perfectly and easy to use. I loved that they have bidet in their toilet and they provide complimentary toiletries except not in container tubs - so might need to bring along yours. Towels are clean and comfy as well. The sink made of Black and White tiles with wall lamp is one of the neatest and perfectly designed sink I ever had. There is a space for soap near the faucet so it won’t leave any soapy leftover on the sink itself - kudos to this!!! ||Then comes the Master bed equipped with a huge King Bed which is clean, comfy and smooth. Pillows/Blankets/Bedsheet are just perfect enough to give you a peaceful and relaxing sleep!!! There is a soft cushioned headrest beside the wall which gives you headrest and protection, another clever idea. The only thing - there is only 1 side table on the bed which is on the left side near the balcony with lamp. There is a huge White wardrobe on the right side with a safety lock as well but we never used for just 2 nights stay. Across the King bed is the Flat screen TV with lots of cable/local channels and compartments. On its right is an elegant Brown study table with leather chair and this is where you could charge your devices. Another outlet is on the TV and on the side table. Next is the best part of the room giving you a spectacular and amazing undisturbed view of Jomtien beach and the Gulf of Thailand and is many beach activities. Sunset is also on this side so better catch that perfect, romantic sunset here right at your room’s balcony. We took our lovely and romantic photos and videos here during sunrise/sunset and at night where the dazzling lights of Pattaya sparkled and shine during the Valentine’s weekend!!!||The resort has 2 pools - 5F and the GF. The former is ideal for adults and is quite deep for kids, the latter is ideal for kids and families. I find the former’s water murkey and the latter clean and clean. The GF pool also has more lounge chairs and bigger with small and big pools conjoined together. Both pools have pool bars that serve drinks and snacks, outdoor showers and they offer clean towels. They have a couple of cafe and restaurants like Garden Cafe (lobby), Guston Yno Cafe (Lobby) DEE Beach Bar & Restaurant (front near beach road), FRIX (Thai/Int’l buffet), their Rooftop bar bar and Sushi restaurant. We didn’t try Garden cafe, Rooftop bar and Sushi restaurant due to lack of time but during the Vday weekend they have dining promo at the Rooftbar bar. We did however have good reviews for FRIX Breakfast which serves our daily breakfast buffet!!! Its very huge, spacious, cozy and sunny - it can accommodate hundreds of its guests especially during the peak breakfast hours. We came here on both busy times and we got our tables with no issues. They also properly placed their tables perfectly to accommodate their guests and makes sure everyone gets a seat with enough room to move. They also have 2F and a few massive group square table and their tables are modern glass top with metal cushioned chairs in Grey and Black tones. They offer wide variety of breakfast selections both Thai and Western, Fruits, Breads/Pastries, Salad, Cereals, Condiments, Desserts and Drinks. But what caught our attention the most if the Pork soup noodles and Savoury dishes especially the Fried rice/Eggs/Veggies and Thai staples. Their fruits and breads/pastries were also perfect - fresh and yummy!!! Food is super delicious, fresh and refreshing!!! I also noticed the staff perfectly cleans each plates and tables as each customers goes by - kudos to them!!!||Another superb review is for their DEE Beach Bar/Restaurant which we enjoyed listening to Live bands playing every hour till 11 PM. Its outdoor but the fresh air outside is really refreshing and they provide good lighting and ventilation. We opted to have our Vday music here and sat at one of the tables near the stage. The band started on time at 10 PM and the lead vocals greeted each guests even asking where we came from which I really admire!!! It sets the bar for a very fun and friendly vibes on this Vday music night. We ordered 2 beers and fresh fried cashew nuts and they didnt cost that much very affordable at just 500 baht with a live band on a beach what more you could ask for!!! It is the best Vday night ever and the band were very good - clean and powerful music/voice!!! Kudos to the band and staff of DEE Beach bar keep it up!!!||We really enjoyed our quick Vday weekend here at D Varee and I would highly recommend it to my family and friends!!! If you’re looking for a perfect resort to stay around Jomtien beach then look no further D Varee Jomtien, one of the icons of Pattaya, will entertain and give you all the comfort and relaxations that you need on your well deserved getaway!!! Read moreHow many times have you worn old shoes for the sake of comfort?||We stayed at Dvaree in Jan-24 and again for 3.5 weeks this January. I saw some things improving and others remained unchanged. Here's my honest review;||1. Ambience and location - The hotel is located in front of Jomtien beach and sipping my coffee sitting in balcony while watching boats puttering into the local fish market is the highlight for me every day. You can also see people enjoying water sports and other activities while sitting in your balcony. Although there are limited baht buses available as the road is only one way at the moment, you can easily get Gran cars for local transportation.|There are two 7/11 stores and various food vendors hover around the hotel which is very handy. There is also a laundry where you can wash and dry your clothes cheaply. ||Hotel building boasts its past grandeur and looks impressive.||Facilities:|Hotel has 2 pools which are regularly cleaned. The gym has improved a lot this year with more equipment available. The wifi performance has improved considerably this year as we didn't get any major drop outs even during weekend compared to last year. There are 2 sets of lifts which was great as out lift served floors 21 and above giving express service to our floor. ||Room furnishings:|As mentioned by others, the hotel rooms require major upgrade. We had a TV as big as my computer monitor at home. Mattresses are hard and old type that caused issues for my back, but regular massages helped. So I would rates room furnishings to be 2.5-3 star.||Food:|We booked our room with breakfast which was OK with predictable rotation of dished as we knew exactly what would be served on a certain day. Food in hotel's Japanese restaurant is reasonably priced. However, food in all other restaurants is expensive and is just OK. I would stick to Thai dishes as our pizza resembled melted cheese on a cardboard without fluffiness of a good pizza base.||Staff:|We loved the cleaning staff, staff in restaurants and gym. Staff at the reception was average with performance depending upon a person. For example, we booked our room 8 months in advance and specifically mentioned the room with 1 double bed and 1 single bed, however we were checked into a room with 3 single beds with a promise to move us to higher floor the following and confirmation that a room has been blocked for us on 30th floor. Next morning a person at reception desk advised that we can look at the room, however the one on 30th floor is no longer available. The person was always conveniently unhelpful with a smile. Another experience with the same person is for check out. One would expect certain discounts (especially being member of their privilege program) after 25 days of stay. We requested late check out as promised in the privilege members program and the same person (mentioned above) told us the they were fully booked and the best he/she could do is to allow check out at 1:00 PM. We asked another staff later in evening and were allowed late check out. So I guess service you receive depends upon who you talk to.||Overall the hotel is good with good location, mostly great staff and with some improvements required in rooms and possibly...
Read moreMixed feelings with Beautiful Seaview Hotel. Upon a tiring bus ride from Bangkok airport to Pattaya Jomtien Bus station, we took bolt to the hotel.
It's my birthday and evening. I was greeted by a junior young receptionist that there is a double booking under my name. I told her impossible as only 2 of us a couple no need additional room. If I had booked earlier had already cancelled as I am quite meticulous over such things and won't pay double. Can I speak to her manager who can speak English.
A Ms Pong attended to me and stood by her junior staff judgement and that no choice I had to cancel 1 room on my own as the other one is from Agoda to a 3rd party agent. She can't give me much details but gave me Agoda Thai number to call. They don't help guest clarify these issues.
Upset and tired I thought reception job should be more helpful to rectify such issues. Luckily I had my Thai sim card in hp and called one Mr Ash from Agoda who clarified one of the previous booking was cancelled and no double booking at all. When I told Ms Pong this and that I was upset with her being so harsh with guest and unhelpful, she gone in office to check her records and then admitted it was their system outside not up to date. I had already cancelled earlier booking. I told her this is not professional of her. I told her we are very tired and do check us in first. Until now still no apologies from her mistakes but staring eyes from her. I told her this is not right and I shall make a formal complain later.
Upon arrival at room it was upgraded from superior Seaview to a deluxe Seaview room and my bed had a cute towel birthday decor with fake flowers. Appreciate effort. So it's a mixed feeling for our first day here. Upset with reception but Happy with housekeeping.
2nd day, I checked my booking and realised my room included breakfast but Ms Pong did not give any instruction on how to redeem it on 1st day check. Upset, I called up reception and told a Mr Kla it's unfair and I don't want to be shortchanged for paying breakfast we did not take. He offered to give me a cake to offset the breakfast but I said no point as my birthday is over and spoilt by Ms Pong and party bad attitudes. They never checked properly and passed the mistake to me. So I suggested a refund of 1st day breakfast but to be fair to hotel still commit to 2nd and 3rd day breakfast. Mr Kla kindly agreed and I was offered a refund for first day breakfast only.
Overall this hotel had fabulous Seaview, nice room and toothbrush. Some nice staff and convenient to call bolt. But you had to be careful with your booking details.
Hotel also full of travel coaches daily so u can see many tourists from China and European countries but the responses from most staff were fair and non racist. Overall we would visit again for fabulous...
