The marvellous thing about “Discovering” what’s in and around Pattaya is that you can happen upon some fantastic places whilst investigating the unexpected. Places for example like Qulture Lounge and Cafe on Jomtien 2nd Road just in front of Riviera Jomtien.
We had so much fun doing that photo shoot and generally soaking up the great energy at Qulture that we decided to go back and try breakfast there.
One year on from their opening this place has become a destination hub for people who enjoy great food, friendly service and sometimes hold meetings up on the second floor. It’s also a great place with comfy seating and good music to generally just hang out and sample their authentic cuisine straight from the US.
Whilst studying a very appealing menu but with the words of my Microbiome article still ringing in my ears I decided that my colleague and I should start with some cold-pressed juice. I went full on with the Veggie option because it contained: kale, lettuce, celery, cucumber, spinach, apple, passion fruit and pineapple and ticked quite a few boxes.
Next, a great cup of coffee was essential and I love that you don’t even have to think about hydrating, as your glass with lemon and ice will be regularly refilled by the attentive staff.
So, without further ado, onto the food. Starting with Eggs Benedict and Avocado toast you may be as surprised as I was to find that I was excited by the toast under my avocado. Sure I knew from the time I’d spent talking to Chef Brandon that all his ingredients would be fresh and flavoursome. So I was prepared for the avocado, the salmon and the Eggs Benedict to be just right but I wasn’t prepared for the toast. I have had many breakfasts where it is just a dry base accompaniment but toast at Qulture is like no other you have tasted in Pattaya.
Moist, soft and delicious I know how they do this but I have been sworn to secrecy. So trust me when I say you’re just going to have to try it for yourselves to be convinced that if they spend this much time and attention making something as simple as toast taste good then what’s to follow is sure to be a delight. And it was!
I had seen the photos of the French Toast and American Pancakes with whipped cream, strawberries, blueberries and banana accompaniment. Therefore I knew that for your sake dear reader, my colleague and I should not eat for the rest of the day to see if these matched up to their TikTok and Instagram loveliness. You will not be surprised for me to tell you that they did. Light, fluffy and with a perfect, accompanying maple syrup they really completed a breakfast to set us up for the entire There’s more great food at Qulture if you choose to go there for lunch rather than brunch with juicy burgers, great looking salads and delicious fried chicken but I’m not going to tell you about those right now. It will give me a chance to go back another time to Qulture which you can be sure I certainly...
Read moreDuring my breakfast meal at Qulture Lounge, in Pattaya, The food was so good. I felt the need to open my King James Bible app, to review, if I had just committed one of the 7 deadly sins, and yes, I was in full violation of sin number 5, gluttony! Have you ever had food so delicious to where your stomach is clearly hurting, but you can’t stop eating? Yes, you’ve reached the point of gluttony, and that’s where I was in Qulture Lounge!
I had the Big Breakfast, which came with sausage, chicken, wings, gravy without the biscuit, Scrambled eggs and toast. I have ran food service departments for over 30 years, so I know a thing or two about cooking. This fried chicken was some of the best I’ve ever had, and that’s counting the 3 weeks I just spent in Memphis Tennessee, about 2 months ago!
My girlfriend had the avocado toast, and I took it upon myself to order her a bowl of grits with cheese, since I know Thai people don’t generally experience grits. Needless to say, she destroyed the grits, along with the delicious avocado toast!
To wash it down, I ordered a press, juice, with kale, apple, lime, guava, etc., which came in a cute little bottle, and it was beyond delicious. I also ordered a matcha latte, and that was great as well. There was literally nothing on either of our plates that would not qualify as delicious!
The ambience of what I would describe as a chic, Southern food restaurant is borderline upscale! It’s super clean, and stylish. It seems the clientele tends to be on the more hip, younger upper scale as well, and very diverse.
They have an upstairs loft with seating, there is of course seating inside the main room of the restaurant downstairs, and a few tables outside if you enjoy people watching.
I am thoroughly impressed with Qulture Lounge, and I’m quite surprised a place like with Southern food this good exists 9000 miles from Texas or Louisiana!
I can’t wait to come back and experience their dinner offerings. As far as breakfast is concerned, you’ll absolutely not be...
Read moreI have been here several times now for breakfast. If I were to rank the food I have tried
1: stuffed French toast — hands down the best French toast I have ever had in my entire life. There are enough reviews describing it on here, but it really is delicious.
2: real American breakfast — I was hesitant to try this cause ordering bacon outside the US is always hit or miss but every component of the breakfast was great! the crispy bacon, sausage patties, hash browns, potatoes and scrambled eggs were all delicious, also the toast and strawberry jelly were good
3: pancakes: I wanted to try them because I love French toast and pancakes equally, but the pancakes here are mid imo. I thought the pancakes were small, and that they didn’t come with enough, I could have ate 3 or 4, but it only came with 2, which I could see from the picture which is why I preemptively ordered a separate plate of food to go with the pancakes. Whereas with the French toast, just that alone is enough to keep me full almost all day until dinner time. To be fair, the pancakes are 50 baht cheaper than the French toast, but the French toast is still an all around significantly better choice, the pancakes are not as special and you could find similar enough pancakes anywhere else, but you will not find other French toast that is as good here.
I ordered a strawberry / banana smoothie and it was just ok. I wouldn’t order it again, though I would maybe try the mango smoothie. The iced caramel macchiato was good. I asked for it to be extra sweet and they delivered on that.
I felt like the service was very quick depending how busy it is of course, but in my experience the food comes out quick, waitresses are pleasant, the music suits me well as someone born in 1992, it is mostly music I know well and like, the seating is cozy and I like the furniture, it’s more high end and nice compared to other places I have been to
I do wish there was a tip line on the receipt when paying with a...
