First, this hotel is not a 5 star hotel, it is only a 4 star at its best. It did not take long to see that this hotel has been rated incorrectly by various hotel booking websites. I have lived in Thailand for almost 10 years and travelled extensively around Thailand staying at 3, 4, and 5 star hotels. This hotel does not even come close to a 5 star rating. I have stayed at many 4 star hotels that provided better service and room ammenities than this hotel. The biggest let down are the hotel rooms which are supplied with minimal amenities. Nearly all 4 star hotels in Thailand provide robes and slippers in each room, none in this so called 5 star hotel, even though the room description on the website says it has these items. Tea and coffee making facilities is what you would expect in a 3 star hotel, no tea bags provided, just cheap Nescafe coffee satchels. Tissues provided are cheap paper napkins you would find at a street café. The bed has a standard Thai style mattress (very firm) with 2 x basic pillows. In the shower you get the bare minimum of ammenities, shower cap, hand soap, cotton buds and cheap shower and shampoo gel in hand dispensers. I found the rooms had little sound proofing as you could hear the TV in the next room coming from the electrical wall socket in our room. The rooms are dated and certainly do not reflect 5 star quality. In the room description it states there is a free mini bar, wrong, does not exist. There is no information in the rooms about the hotel amenities or WIFI. Housekeeping was to a reasonable standard. There is a concierge service, however, they were not to be found on arrival, we lugged our suitcases up the ramps to the reception area before someone came to help. The web page says there are 2 x restaurants, these are only for breakfast, after breakfast they were closed for the duration of our stay, You could order food for room service or pool service only. We ordered a couple of dishes with room service, the garlic bread we ordered was like week old bread toasted, not eatable. The stir fried chicken and cashew nuts was terrible, the chicken was dry and stringy indicating that the chicken had been kept in the fridge too long. My wifes dish was Basil and pork with rice this was OK. Breakfast was just above the standard of a 4 star hotel, however, not the standard of a 5 star hotel. Overall the breakfast food was to a good standard. Some of the hotel staff were pleasant, unfortunately, many were sour faced and gave the impression that they could’nt care less. I did research this hotel via the internet and found that Google and Trip Advisor only rate this hotel at 4 stars, whereas, some hotel booking sites rate it a 5 star. I have contacted Agoda and have requested that they investigate the star rating of this hotel. Overall, would I stay here again, NO. This hotel is OK if you are happy to stay in a 5 star hotel and pay premium prices for a 4 star amenities. Photos attached confirmation of only a 4 star rating...
Read moreAlthough I enjoyed my stay I feel I must point out that this hotel is 4 star at best. It seems to be geared for Chinese visitors but luckily it was quiet for my visit - the few chinese guests that were there are very loud and rule the area they stand in. The corner room I booked was ok but like most places I've been to in Thailand the maintenance and cleaning are below the standards I expect. The room offers both shower and bath but no way will you fill the bath with hot water to soak in. I did have a Luke warm bath that gave me the opportunity to stare at the tiling and wonder if the tilers went home happy with their work - have spent time in the 'Trade' I can assure you that is not how you tile a bathroom. And why is the ceiling fan fitted crooked - I just despair 🤣😂 Anyway I was happy enough with the room and the bed is comfortable even though on the firm side ! The views are splendid and watching the locals drive down the one way road the wrong way became better than any sport I've watched lately 🤣😂 Right - car parking !! Underground parking is very limited and most spaces taken up with hotel junk and workers motorbikes. Customers must use the limited parking at the front and is mainly in full sun until later on in the day. Busy season would not hold the cars I suspect arrive daily. I have to say the breakfast can only be described as disappointing at best. So few customers means the buffet is extremely limited so ordering off a menu is required. I won't go into what I was served but it was not edible so I left it and ate brunch in town. My tip would be to not pay for breakfast and eat out in one of the many places available - my brunch of Thai food cost me 120baht and was hot and freshly cooked - unlike the hotel breakfast ! The staff must be praised as they are so kind and polite so massive plus points there. The pool area is really nice but small and I'm hoping more furniture would be available for busy season, literally 5 or 6 beds available. Most hotels will push the drink sales at the pool but not here - the one bar staff was happy on his phone so didn't speak to us mere customers 😕 Ok so would I stay again - YES ! I've booked again for January but I will take my advise and benefit from it for sure. Location/ views and great staff are the really good points here. Note: Book Seaview or...
Read moreGood location, right across the beach with 7-11, massages, plenty of food places nearby.- The service from the staff were good. They were nice and respectful. No issue arise in particular during the stay.- The hotel itself has 10 floors. I was a bit disapointed that the corner room we got is on the 5th floor (S building), as the view is partially obstructed by another building and a big antenna. Only if we got just 1 floor higher it would've been perfect (I did request for a higher floor upon booking, but duly noted that it is not guaranteed..) - It is to note that there are 2 seperate bathroom section (i) comes with rain shower+ sink; (ii) comes with a bathtub, toilet, and a smaller sink. Both bathroom doors are "glass door" that you cannot lock, so it might be uncomfortable for some people to use the toilet..- Breakfast was good, decent variety. The staff were also accommodative+nice. There's an 'egg station' that only offers fried egg (they don't offer omelette, scrambled eggs or anything else - not a big issue but i think it's worth pointing out)- I did try to call Reception/Food&Bev a few times around 8PM during one night, wanted to check if they have room service (wanted to check the menu and price), but I didn't get any response after 3-4 calls.. If someone were to pick up and say it has passed last-order time or they don't offer, it would've been ok, but was weird to not get any response in the call at all given they do have 24-hour reception and it wad only 8PM- It took awhile to cool down the room after turning on the ACOverall, it was definitely a decent stay and no major issue to complain in particular. Though I do want to point out some parts that could...
