I booked this hotel based on it being cheaper than most others in the area, and on lacation, I knew what to expect and was not disappointed. My room was described as a Superior Cabana, so I didn't know what that meant, but it was just a typical room. Size was good, with a large well appointed bathroom with walk in shower. Two single beds joined together made a huge one, very comfortable, only problem the cover was unduly warm. There was good aircon, a fridge,TV, plenty of hanging and shelf space, but no balcony or safe.|There are two pools, a small one at the rear block, where i was housed, and a larger more attractive one at the main block. Very few sunbeds, but no great demand, possibly because thet are hard plastic, with no mattress, so uncomfortable to spend much time on. I preferred to pay 100 baht, approx £2.50 to hire one at the beach.|I was on B&B basis, the breakfast was interesting, lots of options I would normally only eat at night, eg sweet&sour, stir fry, spring rolls and soup, but also omelettes and scrambled egg, plenty of fruit and pastries.|Location was good, turning right from the entrance, a few minutes walk took you to the main beach road, here ther were plenty of bars and restaurants. Crossing the road was bot the best experience, no mandatory crossing points, so you had to negotaite three lanes of fast moving traffic,|The beach is good, sandy , and the water temperature was lovely. Sunbeds are available for individual hirers, and you can also buy a beer or soft drink.|Right next to the hotel entrance, at night a huge area, much bigger than a football pitch became a street food market, with a vast array of dishes fro m many countries on offer. While you ate and drank, there was live music. going further along the road to the left, a few minutes takes you to a busy area, where a number of bars have good live music, so that is where I spent most nights. |There are dozens of vehicles with seating for about ten, constantly passing, you just jump on and pay when leaving, 10baht . these can take you to the infamous Walking Street, which I will review seperately.|Leaving the hotel by turning left, you are in a very busy area, lots of shops, bars, massage parlours, and clubs, and a few minutes takes you to the famous Runway street food market, where you can eat under the wings of a jumbo jet, again I will review seperately.|If I were to return to Pattaya, I would have no hesitation in returning to the Tropicana, but I cannot agree with the 4 star official rating, with no bar and the fairly basic amenities, I can...
Read moreHello, dear ladies and gentlemen. Accommodation at this hotel was booked and fully paid in advance. ASQ (ALQ) - 15 days. However, before arrival, the Thai government reduced the quarantine period to 7 days. This hotel refused to refund money to customers for unused 8 days, arguing that they decided to raise prices from the new month. The ASQ and ALQ programs are government quarantine, not just hotel accommodation for rest. And the terms of quarantine are determined by the Government of Thailand. Changing dates in no way depends on whether your guests have made a reservation. And I am sure that you agree that the hotel guest who booked accommodation in your hotel is not to blame for the fact that the deadlines were shortened. Also, the hotel cannot extend new prices to bookings already made last month and paid in advance. It's not fair. Be very careful gentlemen, do not trust this hotel completely.
As for the hotel, its rooms can be rated at 3 points. Very dirty, dust-filled curtains. The condition is very old. But the service person is friendly, they try to help if they can. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are acceptable.
The pillows are very uncomfortable, springs dig into the back from the mattresses. On one bed there was a protective mattress pad, but on the second double bed there was a narrow mattress pad (somewhere 70-80 cm), which covered only a narrow strip of the central part. Tea bags are not provided, take...

We ask big bed, they moved 2 single beds next to each other. The Windows were loose inside the frame so could hear everything outside. After 2 night We changed room. We had to pay 500bath per night so 3000 total and we got the room we originaly booked by agoda. But also problems. Room 211. The balcony door didnt close 100% so we could here every thing outside again...and my wife could not unlock it normal. The elektricity went off and on every 5 minutes. So watching tv was impossible. 1 night later we change room again.. room 205. 4 nights lefts to go. To be honnest this room was okay. If you look over the fact that all rooms have black mold and stains on matrasses. The only problem we had was that the airco did not go lower and stayed on 25 26 27 degrees. Since this was the 3 room in a stay of 8 night we kind off gave up on and accepted that this was the best they had to offer in this outdated hotel. the best part from the hotel...
