I had a mushroom soup, Rabbit with polenta, white beans and spinach.
Mushroom soup was tasty, and thick with a decent portion, I recommend.
The rabbit and polenta was bad. I believe in finishing a meal someone cooked for me, It's the respectful thing to do, I finished it down to the bone as scene in the picture below, but the rabbit was butchered horribly, whomever prepared it, made sure to leave as many fragments and bits of bones all over the sauce that it came with, half the time I spent picking bones from chewing, the other I spent actually eating the rabbit.
The sauce the rabbit came in tasted like a watered down, sweetened Indian style curry, strange assortment of flavours and consistency... Especially for Italian cuisine. I genuinely believed I was eating poorly made curry.
The polenta was delicious. Wonderful mouthfeel, smooth and slightly creamy to the bite, not even slightly grainy. Good portion, highly recommend, the polenta was amazing, I wish I could've gotten more of it.
The white beans and spinach was sour, specifically the beans, I could be incorrect here and maybe that's the flavour profile they were going for, but it tasted like it went beyond expiration.
The waiters who attended to me were quick to help, and very kind. Informative of the dishes, the ingredients involved, and the region it comes from. Politeness and fine dining go hand in hand, these gentlemen were examplary of that.
The atmosphere was confusing, its an enormous restaurant, around 40m2, mostly empty and lacking in charm, seemed like the large space is part of the aesthetic. Not a refined environment. Total cost 1155 baht, too expensive, poorly made, bad flavours. I regret spending money to eat here.
Still!.. the staff was kind to me, that's a 5 star service experience as far as...
Read moreRevised Review 2024 (5 Star) We really enjoyed our revisit after a long hiatus. We ordered a lot of the same dishes. The Lasagna was perfect this time. Quatro Formaggi sauce was also thick, creamy and delicious, although the gnocchi was a bit too soft and mushy. That could be a texture preference. Ironically, we found the penne in our pommodoro pasta to be a little bit too al dente. But both were still enjoyable. The pommodoro sauce was great. Pizza was perfect (well sauced and well done, just as we requested).
The only thing we did not like was the bread. It had a strange flavor and texture. Anyway, it's complimentary, so we can't really complain.
Service was prompt and professional. We were super impressed that they automatically bring some Parmesan cheese to the table. Pricing is honest (no ++ charges like some other nearby tourist traps).
One point they could improve is the menus. They are quite dated, a bit worn, and the font is hard to read, especially for older people. But I suppose they do fit the classic style of the restaurant.
Original Review 2020 (3 Star) This visit was disappointing compared to previous experiences. Lasagna was tough/chewy, maybe from being microwaved too long? Quatro formaggi sauce was very thin and lacked the rich flavor expected. Salad and bread were both good, tho, and nice they bring it before the meal without asking. Service also remains top notch. Overall a great place, but for the prices they charge, consistency...
Read moreWe have been to Pattaya a few times and always said that we should try it one day as it looks like a nice place and sound like a traditional Italian restaurant. So we went there a couple of nights ago and we where seated pretty quick and menus where given . We sat there with the menus for about 20 minutes and then finally the waiter came and took our order and hardly a word came out of his mouth . We placed our order and not long the drinks came and about 10 minutes later the pizza came and to be honest even though it was a small portion it was a nice pizza to eat . Shortly after the pasta came and I have to say there was no resemblance of a pasta dish at all . The gnocchi looked like it came out of a can and was unreadable and my partner had a fettuccine fruit deli mare which looked like a plate of clams and somewhere on the side was pasta that was reheated and stuck together and also uneatable . We left the plates almost as they where and called for the bill , the waiter came with the bill and when he saw our plates are still full , said nothing and walked away . We called out for him to take the credit card but he avoided us and finally my partner walked up to another waiter to ask where to pay and we where told to go to the other side to pay . Do your self a favour if you want Italian stay away from this place . Waste of...
