Disappointing Stay at Discovery Hotel Pattaya

Our experience at Discovery Hotel Pattaya was far from satisfactory, with numerous issues marring our stay.

Deceptive Front Desk Practices The front desk staff displayed a shocking lack of professionalism and honesty. When we requested a room with a king-size bed, we were told none were available. However, to our dismay, we witnessed other guests being given king-size rooms right in front of us. This blatant lie left us feeling disrespected and discriminated against.

Subpar Room Quality The room quality was abysmal and not up to the standards expected of a purportedly reputable hotel. The bed was extremely uncomfortable, making it difficult to get a good night's sleep. Even more disturbing was the state of the bedding - the sheets were of poor quality and, most alarmingly, stained. This level of uncleanliness is completely unacceptable and raises serious concerns about the hotel's hygiene practices.

Poor Customer Service The staff's attitude, particularly at the front desk, was deplorable. There was a noticeable lack of courtesy and customer service skills. The rude behavior from staff was very bad, especially during check-in and check-out processes. This unprofessional conduct significantly detracted from the overall experience.

Cleanliness Issues Beyond the stained bedsheets, there were widespread cleanliness problems throughout the hotel. We witnessed the presence of insects, including ants and cockroaches, in their rooms. Such pest issues are unacceptable in any accommodation, let alone one claiming to be a quality hotel.

Noise Problems The hotel's location, while convenient, comes with significant drawbacks. Rooms facing the street are subject to excessive noise from nearby bars and traffic, often lasting until 3 AM. This made it nearly impossible to relax or sleep peacefully.

Overpriced for Quality Given the numerous issues, the hotel was overpriced for the quality of accommodations and service provided. The discrepancy between the room rates and the actual experience left many feeling cheated.

In conclusion, our stay at Discovery Hotel Pattaya was a series of disappointments. From the dishonest front desk practices to the unhygienic room conditions and poor customer service, this hotel falls far short of acceptable standards. We cannot recommend this establishment to other travelers and strongly advise seeking alternative...

Honest Review – 3-Day Stay at Hotel Discovery (Dee Block Building)

We stayed at Hotel Discovery (Dee Block Building) for 3 days and would like to share our honest experience:

Location & Property: The hotel’s location is excellent – centrally located, clean, and definitely worth the money. The property is well-maintained and visually appealing.

Check-in Experience: Unfortunately, our check-in was far from pleasant. Despite rooms being available and our early check-in request submitted in advance (based on flight timings), we were asked an additional 2,000 Baht just for a 3-hour early check-in. This was disappointing and felt unreasonable.

Room Quality: The rooms are spacious, clean, and well-kept, with good views and easy connectivity to local attractions. No complaints here.

Breakfast Experience: For Indian or vegetarian guests, the breakfast options were extremely limited. Despite repeated requests, the chef was uncooperative and unwilling to prepare even basic vegetarian items for kids. This lack of flexibility led to frustration, especially when traveling with children.

Staff Behavior: Most of the hotel staff were courteous and helpful. However, two individuals stood out negatively – the breakfast chef and a receptionist named Ms. TiTi. Ms. TiTi, in particular, was extremely rude, loud, and unprofessional. Her attitude lacked basic hospitality and left us very disappointed.

Final Thoughts While the property itself is value for money and has many positives, some aspects of service – especially from specific staff members – need serious improvement. If you do choose to stay here, we hope your experience is smoother and you don’t have to deal with the same individuals we encountered.

This hotel is amazing!! This is my second time I have stayed with The Discovery Beach Hotel, both times in the Chic Tower. The first time was before the Pandemic and they have all gone above and beyond to make my stay just as memorable as the it was then. What impressed me the most was at the beginning there was some confusion on my room, I booked very last minute (day before my stay) and the hotel is fully booked as expected so I completely understand. However, what impressed me is how quickly and professionally this was resolved in order to satisfy my needs. This actually ended up with a much better room than expected, without any hesitation they were on it getting me settled into what I would say the most amazing room with the most beautiful sunset sea views. The staff were amazing and so friendly. I am extremely grateful for how you dealt with this, Thank you so much.

In my opinion this hotel is more a Resort. It has absolutely everything a resort has. The Discovery Beach have nailed it. Restaurant surrounding the pool overlooking the beach which is stunning, Live music every evening and absolutely amazing food (I have eaten my meals nearly every day here) love it! Meals in the restaurant, around the pool and even the cheeky room service dinner 😝 Of course I can't not mention how friendly and welcoming the restaurant staff have been. Every day I look forward to coming downstairs and seeing everyone. The service is just as amazing as the food. Thank you so much to you all for adding to my experience.
