My wife and I came to Beyond for our honeymoon in March 2025 through a luxury escapes package. We were extremely disappointed with the experience. We did another luxury escapes in Thailand the week before and that resort was amazing, the staff so helpful with the inclusions and I couldn’t fault it, but I can’t say the same for Beyond. We were just coming to relax and knew it would be quiet and not close to much, which we didn’t have an issue with. We loved the beach it was on, it was beautiful and had great restaurants along the beach next door outside of the resort. We had a relaxing time and enjoyed the quiet resort but our experience wasn’t great. I would recommend the Robinson hotel next door on the same beach it looked nicer. The package was advertised as 8x30 minute massages, all inclusive food and drinks. The massages we got given 8 vouchers to use at the spa for the 30 min massages. We walked in to book our first massage and are shown a menu to use the vouchers and told they don’t offer 30 min massages the minimum is 60 minutes. For one 60 minute massages with oil it was 4 vouchers, so 8 massages we wanted to use over a week quickly turned to two massages, one each for us. This is just false advertising and the staff at the spa were not very helpful, first time we got shown the wrong menu for another voucher, we booked based off that and then turned up to be told sorry it’s more vouchers that isn’t your vouchers. We also called up to book our massage and said what we wanted at one time, and then when we arrived and gave the vouchers they were annoyed and said we should have mentioned in the booking it’s using the vouchers can we come another day to use them. We just refused and they eventually excepted them. I’m not sure what the difference is as we booked the type of massage we redeemed with the vouchers. The all inclusive is also not exactly what it seems. There is a beach bar and restaurant, right on the beach, beautiful spot. We arrived our first day after a long travel day at 4pm and said can we please see the menu we are all inclusive and want to order. The staff said we are having buffet dinner later can we just wait for that, we again said no we would like to order food are we able to or can we only have buffet. They eventually despite not wanting to, showed us the luxury escapes all inclusive menu and we ordered. The salad was very basic and the spring rolls were fine. This was a recurring issue with staff at that restaurant they never wanted us to order ala carte and would always try get us to have buffet and some staff even almost playing dumb about a luxury escapes menu but I would say I’ve seen it can we please see it. Eventually we just gave up and would pick at the buffet for lunch and go out for dinner rather than eat at the resort. We are not really people who look for a buffet for lunch and dinner and prefer fresh food so we didn’t want that for lunch and dinner. We are massive foodies and go to nice restaurants and I would say the food at the resort was very average for breakfast lunch and dinner. Breakfast was fine what you expect, had nice egg station and fruit, yoghurt, cereal. Nothing special but was satisfactory for us. Lunch and dinner at the beach bar restaurant was buffet every day and like I said they didn’t like you ordering ala carte menu and a lot of the buffet food we tried was average. The restaurants on the beach were amazing, we went there every night since we didn’t like the resort and ate local Thai and it had a great atmosphere and service. We loved Pasons next door, it was cheap too, about $20 Australian for 3 main meals and two beers. The main pool was dirty, the day we arrived the corners were covered in a slime, I’m assuming from not being cleaned regularly and green mould around the edges and some metal rails. The all inclusive drinks was probably the one thing advertised we thought we got our moneys worth and it was as advertised from an extensive list. Alma and her daughter Clarissa were the only friendly and helpful staff.

Just arrived home from a wonderful & relaxing 12 days in an Elite Villa with Private Pool @ Beyond Resort Khao Lak. We travelled with another couple & had villas next door to each other. We booked an all inclusive package through Luxury Escapes which included airport transfers, massages & all meals & drinks. All inclusive had a separate menu to a la carte but our food & drinks menu had more than enough variety, the 4 of us agreed on this. Breakfast was a buffet, you must try the personally cook omelettes. This LE package was fantastic value & would book again if it came up. We arrived very late & all restaurants were closed but the reception staff had arranged food to be in our villas on arrival, what great service. From the moment we checked in we could not fault our service. June is the start of monsoon season & is low season. We had at least a week of fantastic weather days & a handful with monsoonal rain. This did not stop us from enjoying ourselves at all. This resort was very quite due to season but also the resort was being renovated & a lot of villas unavailable, this did not have an effect on our stay, except to make it wonderfully quiet for us. We all wanted a relaxing quiet holiday & that is what we had. Elite villas are at the lobby/top end of the resort & really peaceful & it was definitely worth having our villas with private pool. If required you could have a buggy pick you up from your villa to anywhere in the resort, handy for me with a knee injury & for when pouring rain. Wee was the most regular driver I had & what a lovely man, he would walk to my door with an umbrella to collect me & escort me to buggy, I cannot thank him enough for going above & beyond for me. Mowtown on fire is a steak restaurant on site & many people come from other resorts to eat there. Kwang, Cha & Ked were the fabulous wait staff at this restaurant & their service was second to none. We ate here on several occasions & wait staff knew us from the first visit & our drinks orders. Food….just wow!!! Everything fantastic. The Beach restaurant service was also great, I have to mention Tu who was delightful & always had a beautiful smile on her face & disposition. All staff were great but Tu was a standout. The Pool bar was fantastic & Bunny the barman was awesome & gave great service, a great spot to prop on a hot sunny day. Bunny the perfect person for this job. The resort is a little bit out from everything but we could easily get a taxi or tuk tuk wherever we wanted to go. We went into Bang Niang market’s & restaurants numerous times & local restaurants 300 baht. The beach is beautiful & you can walk either way & find little restaurants & massage Place right on the beach. I had 4-5 massages in resort Spa & Pea, Nam & Ya were fabulous & a clean & tranquil place. Oh & not to forget our villas were cleaned daily & they did the perfect job. I guess you could say we highly recommend a stay here. Of course peak season will change this a bit. Thanks to all the staff for making our holiday wonderful, relaxing & just what we wanted.

I have reviewed many sites on Google Maps around the globe for years. We stayed at Beyond Khaolak 22-29 April 2025. We saw the TravelZoo deal and decided it was too good to pass up. My wife and I have traveled globally quite a bit and have stayed at many types of resorts and hotels from the Maldives to Hawaii and throughout Europe and the Mediterranean. Our takeaways of Beyond Khaolak and things we liked about it was how relaxing and quiet it was, until nighttime. We stayed in a Premier Villa right next to the pool. Every night there was live music, not good music, at the Beach Bar. They played until 11pm which made it very hard to fall asleep before then. That was very frustrating. During the day the resort was relaxing. The food at Motown Restaurant was pretty good. The breakfast buffet was pretty standard and nothing extraordinary. The buffet in the evening at the Beach Bar was not impressive. We eventually decided to eat elsewhere in the evenings. The pool area was a bit of a let down. If you compare the pictures online to what it looks like in person, you’ll get your feelings hurt. It was hard to believe that it was the same place. The beach in front of the resort was dirty and not kept well. We walked down in front of the Robinson and they had employees picking up trash and raking the beach. I picked up 3 pieces of broken glass off the beach in front of Beyond. There is nothing to do at the resort. We rented a car to go do things off the property cause other than laying around the pool, there were no activities. The staff was courteous, for the most part. There were two ladies at the Beach Bar who made us feel like we were a nuisance for asking for more water or asking for out bill when we were finished. The rooms are dated and it’s nice to hear they are doing an update soon. Most of the rooms on the property were unoccupied. Maybe it’s the low season. Our room had paint scratched and chipping off the walls. The furniture is dated and delaminated. The rooms basically were like cheap motel rooms. Nothing memorable about them. The cats were annoying as well. Don’t try to exchange your currency at the front desk. The rate she offered was not a fair exchange rate. We exchanged money in town. We had a nice time in Thailand, but would not recommend Beyond Khaolak to friends.

This resort is truly amazing. I cannot give a clearer recommendation than the Beyond Resort for Khao Lak. Everything is really fabulous here. It starts with the reception, this beautiful lobby, the welcome drink and the friendly welcome from the staff; it is like being where you want to be all your life without knowing that you want to go there. In any case, the reception was a magical affair. Afterwards the receptionist as well as an employee in a golf caddy brought us to our villa together with our luggage and there all our expectations were exceeded. An almost 80m ² domicile with a living and sleeping area incl. Minibar, coffee and tea making facilities, a dressing room as a passage to the bathroom with separate toilet, shower and 2 separate washing areas and an outdoor shower. Beautifully and traditionally decorated, great furniture and the outdoor shower wonderfully laid out. The icing on the cake in our case was the private pool right in front of the villa with a view of the beach and the sea. And, as a first spoiler, the service (housekeeping) was exceptionally good. (We were in 1201 from January 21st to January 29th, 2020). The housekeeping was done several times a day, the minibar refilled and in the evening we were even brought over a bed of cookies. That was really great! We could already say that this is heaven on earth. However, that was just the beginning. In the morning, at the first breakfast, we were able to get a nice seat and were not only welcomed by Tik every day until the last day. No, she knew what we wanted to drink from then on and served us excellently. Breakfast was exceptional. Diverse, varied, fresh and of excellent quality. Incidentally, this also corresponds to what I can say about the restaurants of the resort. Absolutely great! The pool area is definitely phenomenal. So beautifully laid out, so great water quality and a sight that, with a view of the beach and sea, will definitely be remembered forever. The fact that there is a pool bar in the middle of the pool and that there are pool chairs in the shallow area of the pool was another big highlight. And also in that area, every employee was always friendly and cheerful! The resort also offers in-house cooking classes, which we booked directly. So you don't have to go to Khao Lak.
