Disappointing Experience – outdated Information & Poor MaintenanceI had an unhappy experience at this resort and frustrated by the beachside pool is already removed.1. About Beachside Pool & Shuttle ServiceOne of the main reasons I booked this resort was the beachside pool and restaurant, with a shuttle service to access them. It is published by many influencer and most of the video at YouTube. However, when the day we want to visit the beachside pool, hotel still arranged a shuttle to the beach, but upon arrival, we realized there was no pool. This caused a major inconvenience because without the pool, we had nowhere to stay comfortably, and calling a shuttle back was extremely difficult. We were stranded at the beach and had to rely on a nearby café to help us contact the hotel for pickup. This was a frustrating and stressful experience. And during standing at the beachside and shocked that there are no pool, we call back to the hotel by the help of cafe staff. We were told that the pool had been removed last year! There was absolutely no notice about this on the booking site or even on the hotel’s official website. 2. Severe Ant Infestation in the RoomThe room had a serious ant problem, with ants crawling on the walls. I reported this in the afternoon, and housekeeping came to clean, but by night, the ants came back. I requested a room change, but since my parents were in the neighboring room, they could only offer a room in a different building, which was inconvenient. As a result, I had to endure the issue for another night before changing rooms the next day. 3. I change to a new room facing the Main Street in the last day due to ant. However, another issue happened since that room is closest to the event hall. And during the Friday night I Stay, Dole is having an annual dinner here. My room can hear clearly the base from the speaker. It end about 2300 and finally my kid can fall to sleep.Overall, this was a disappointing stay. Their should be notice and announcement about the poolside bar had been removed. I trust this is one of the main attraction for many from watching Facebook or blogger. For the poor room maintenance made (ant issue) the experience is frustrating. It seems only happened on the several room (or only the room I stay?). There are numerous of ant climbing across the wall, the pic attached is not showing the actual disaster and i had taken video for record. However, the service and professional level of all the front desk staff is excellent. They try the best to help and solve my issue, with patient and kindness. Big...

Stayed at Amari Hua Hin for 6 nights. It was pleasant and relaxing. Although the first room we were given had a problem with the shower floor drainage system so bad that it flooded and overflowed beyond the shower screen. We reported this the next day. Someone came to check and I was told it was fixed. It turned out it wasn’t and I had to explain at the front desk again. Fortunately the customer relationship agent, Mook, who checked us in the night before was there at Front Desk this time to assist us instead of the other 2 staffs we complained to who didn’t seem to understand the extent of the issue. Mook has been very kind, polite and helpful throughout the process and allowed us to change to another room. The second room we had was good with no major maintenance issues. Aside from the shower drainage issue with the first room, the room has a nice comfortable bed and pillows for a good sleep. A balcony that opens out for some fresh air and sea breeze. Housekeeping was good with our room nice and cleaned daily. The hotel has a good size swimming pool and lots of pool loungers and chairs to choose from. I spent most of my time here relaxing on a queen size lounger underneath the shady trees. It was lovely and relaxing during weekdays. Perfectly quiet with few other international guests due to low season. But it was extremely busy in the weekend with a surge on domestic Thai tourists who mostly came for an overnight stay. The pool area was no longer peaceful and quiet. We had a nightly dinner at the Aqua restaurant. All the staffs working there are exceptionally lovely and friendly, especially one of them who told us that she loves eating sweets in the evening and 7-Eleven has sweets she likes. I wished I have asked for her name so I can thank her for looking after us at the restaurant. You know who you are. My only slight disappointment is with one senior looking female staff, whom I think could be the manager. I had only seen here there twice and briefly working there. Otherwise it was a delightful experience dining there daily for our 6 nights. We also tried a 60-minutes Thai massage at Breeze Spa. A beautiful spa centre with good and experienced therapists. We felt very relaxed after...

We would definitely not recommend booking a stay here with Teletext holidays as we have now lost £2500 having booked our dream holiday to Thailand using all our life savings for this dream anniversary holiday we are sadly now not able to go due to Covid as Thailand is not on the travel corridor for the UK so at present we would have to quarantine for 2 weeks which we are both unable to do. I am unable to as I’m a Key worker - a teacher returning to school on 1st September and my partner is not allowed any more holiday and works in manufacturing industry so can’t work from home. We understood with Covid 19 all travel arrangements have been difficult so we wanted to either cancel our booking until this pandemic is over or change our booking to Easter dates the next school holidays. We called 5 times, were put on hold for hours, promised we’d be called back, were refused to speak to a manager, emailed three times with no results and told we couldn’t change anything until 7 days before. Then 7 days before as instructed we called and held for a further 2 hours only to be told that as flights still running and hotel Still open they will neither cancel and refund us the money but we could postpone the date at the same cost of flights and hotel again that is not postponing that is making a totally new booking - it is disgraceful - We have lost £2500 of our savings.

The Covid 19 pandemic has affected many people’s lives and many organisations are doing their utmost to help the public at these times when money is tight and stress is huge. I am shocked at this disgraceful lack of understanding shown by this organisation.

My partner and I saved for 3 years to get the money together for our dream holiday to Thailand and so £2500 may not seem much to such a multi million pound operation but to us it is a long life time saving.

We had another trip booked in July for our family to Valencia with easyJet and Airbnb who have both been wonderful allowing us to postpone dates of flights and cancel accommodation which is the least they could do in the current climate.

I will never recommend Teletext Holidays to anyone and will do my utmost to advise as many people as possible never to travel with...

This is a popular hotel, both among Thais and foreigners, so you are not going to be too disappointed. That said, I found the whole experience somewhat lacklustre. To manage expectations, you should remember what rate you paid. Although it might be classified as a five-star property, it is not in the same category as the Marriott, the Intercontinental or the Hyatt Regency. That should be clear from the fact that the room rate is between a third and a half of those at the aforementioned properties. First thing to be aware of is that if you book a deluxe room with a resort view you may, as we did, get a blocked view. See accompanying photo. It took some effort for the staff to change our room. In other Onyx properties, the mere mention of a blocked view has the staff doing everything possible to move you. I queried why guests were not made aware of the blocked view before arriving. The staff member said that the hotel preferred to inform guests after they arrived. I find such a practice indefensible. Second, staff are not, overall, falling over backwards to help you. In some instances, they were little more than surly. At breakfast, they were pretty lethargic. Third, breakfast itself was just about ok. I certainly wouldn't include it again if we stayed on another occasion. The coffee was bad, the western options were the same every day, jams and spreads were poor quality and the sausages were cheap frankfurters. Staff were slow to clear tables. However, the actual interior breakfast room was very nice, with both natural light and good artificial lighting. The rooms themselves were pretty good, each with a large balcony. Now, and this is the reason I would probably return, the location was excellent. You can either walk to the beach or take the buggy. The beach itself is spectacular. We visited at the end of April and the water was still clear. We walked from one end to the other several times and in those 8 km, I saw no rubbish. It really was pristine. So, overall, I would recommend the hotel at the 80 dollar price point, but take a room that is a category higher than their deluxe room.
