Pizza is amazing!!! and we love Tiramisu there
Read moreWe stopped in just this past Wednesday (November 29th) for our first visit. We arrived just after opening (approximately 11:37 a.m.) and were the first ones in. we took a seat and a menu was brought to the table.
We decide to get a pizza and ordered the Pizza Campagnola which is topped with Tomato Sauce, Roasted Bell Peppers, Spicy Salami, Italian Sausage, Black Olives, and Mozzarella Cheese.
A selection of bread was brought to the table, no butter was provided but bread was good. Lunch is served on the lower level and I thought this section of the restaurant was very nice. Lots of natural lighting, wooden flooring, with black tiled walls and everything looked clean.
The pizza was soon ready and brought to the table, it looked good. The pizza tasted as good as it looked and we both enjoyed it, I would have to say it is one of the better tasting pizzas that I have had in Hua Hin.
Not everything went perfectly though, as I mentioned we arrived just after opening, the waiter was standing outside and my girlfriend asked him (in Thai) if they were open, he said something and we went in. When we sat down my girlfriend told me that he had said that they were open and wanted to know what we wanted to eat. This was our first visit, we were just walking in and had not seen a menu. I'm not sure how we were supposed to know what we were going to eat. My girlfriend told me that she answered his question by just saying “food”. I told her that it was a good answer to a silly question.
When the menu was brought to the table it was just one menu and it was handed to me, my girlfriend wasn't too pleased by this. The waiter should have brought two menus and I see no reason for him not to have done so.
As I stated above the pizza was very good and I would very much like to try more of what they have to offer but I'm not quite sure that my girlfriend will want to return after being asked silly questions and not being handed a menu, I cant really blame her if she doesn't want to return and if she doesn't want to come back this will be our last visit.
This would have easily been at least a four star review had we received...
Read moreSigh! First, the waitress didn’t have our reservation because she said that the “line” response by the restaurant was not good as compared to a phone call. Full house - high anticipation by us. Overheard other customers in other tables telling the chef whom walked around 3 times greeting customers that they used to visit his former restaurant . Then, they started serving other tables before ours. When the starter of calamari came, the taste was good. However, was wondering how a highly raved restaurant could only get small calamari supplies from Hua Hin, which have fishermen catching calamari off from the beach every night. Then the horror of main course - the “signature” rock lobster pasta came. It tasted so plain and tasteless. We thought the chef forgot the salt so we sent it back. And to our horror, instead of preparing a new one, they used the half eaten pasta back to add flavour. It came back like Thai mama- soggy and still tasteless. We were horrified a restaurant that claimed to have authentic italian chef would recycle the pasta we sent back to try to re-cook and add flavour ! The “signature” Angus Oz tenderloin came cooked to request- medium. However , instead of having a nice charred on the steak , what was on the meat was the “charred” dirt from the grill that was not cleaned well. When we-checked why the ratings are so High, realised the number of retings were left to be less than 20! OMG, is this a conned job fake-review restaurant ? Then I realised we would never see an italian chef greeting customers before and during meals in real italian restaurants because they would be busy dishing up great meals...
