The hotel should not be advertised as 4 star. Its maximum of 3. The check in process was cumbersome - payment only by cash or with a 4% card surcharge... crazy at this price point. They said they couldn't charge my card at booking.com for some reason.
They required a deposit of 2000 baht after we paid for the stay "in case we break something." They already have my card from booking, by passport, my payment... what more do they need?
We eventually found all the info about the 4% and the deposit. We got both in the confirmation email after we could not cancel the booking, because now they can charge the card for some reason. The deposit info was on the very end of the email bellow the final price, the booking.com ads and what else is there.
What's more, in the room you find a pricelist not for the room service but for damages you might make. Even for missing stuff like the "do not disturb sign" or a little spoon... I have never seen this in any hotel, let alone 4 star one. We checked everything right as we check it because of this. The reading lamps weren't working. They promised to fix them the next day, but they didn't. Not like we needed them, but just to illustrate everything.
Luckily, we got the deposit back, but i felt like they would scam us for something.
The room we stayed in was very humid. Our clothes was wet and nothing really dried off. There was mold in the bathroom.
My gf had a bug in her breakfast salad once.
The path to the rooms is not suitable for luggage. It's a tiled walk way with the tiles 20 cm apart with grass between. Impossible to roll your luggage over it. There wasn't a bell boy to help you with it.
The location is ok, but not ideal for us. Beach was 10 mins walk and it wasn't the great. All the restaurants around seem to have fake reviews and we were afraid to eat anywhere. The hotel restaurant was always empty and not inviting to eat in. It also closed at 5pm... We opted for Grab take...
Read moreRecently, I had a chance to stay at The Gallery Hotel Nai Harn in Phuket, and it was quite the adventure finding it! Tucked away and a bit hidden, I initially missed the hotel and had to double back before finally spotting the sign.
The hotel has a few parking spots right at the front, which is convenient but can get tight. The lobby isn’t massive – it's cozy and just right for checking in, which was quick and hassle-free.
The real beauty of this place lies just past the lobby. They have two large swimming pools that are absolutely pristine – perfect for a refreshing dip. It’s great how they've got the fitness center and a kids' room right next to the pools, making it easy for everyone to find something to do. But I do agreed with other review that I find it’s difficult to take my luggage to my room. I know that the floor is beautiful with grass and cement design. It wasn’t friendly with my luggage wheely
The location is spot on! It’s within walking distance to Nai Harn Beach, and right in front of a lovely reservoir, which makes for a peaceful view. Plus, having a minimart next to the lobby is incredibly handy for grabbing snacks or essentials.
My room was surprisingly spacious with a big balcony – lots of room to stretch out and relax. The bed was enormous and super comfy, perfect after a day out exploring. I also appreciated the big fridge, handy for keeping drinks cool.
I missed out on trying the breakfast – couldn’t manage to wake up early enough, also didn’t have time too try the meal at the hotel restaurant, but that just means I have something to look forward to next time!
All in all, The Gallery Hotel Nai Harn is a lovely spot for a tranquil getaway in Phuket. It’s close enough to the beach and offers a nice, relaxed vibe. Definitely looking forward to coming back – and maybe I'll catch that...
Read moreWe booked a standard “deluxe room” without breakfast for 5 nights. They put us on the second floor and it had a nice view of the garden and pool from a private balcony. The room was good enough and felt clean and spacious. Towels were clean but grey from age; we used our own. Bed sheets were a bit musty but we had them changed and much better. Toilet paper and toiletries very cheap. Nice big TV but no channels you want so bring a USB drive for movies. The swimming pool was fantastic! Clean and big enough for several people to do laps. Or just relax and enjoy bird spotting. The environment was very peaceful and max capacity is only 30 rooms. The gym was decent too. Location is good if you plan to hire a bike or use taxis, but on foot it’s poor due to lack of sidewalks, traffic and hills. Nai Harn beach is really very beautiful and you can use their bikes to cycle there or walk 15 minutes. Next door is the best mini-mart in Phuket, Papaya which has homemade cakes and dairy, proper but cheap coffee and a bunch of other stuff that really supports your stay at the hotel. Also, Avo the restaurant next door is good too, and 5 minutes up the hill the Cannelle cafe and bakery is awesome! Overall, this is a great value hotel for budget travellers who want peace and quiet without being far off the beaten track. Very...
