Went to Avo for the first time today, as we have driven past many times and it looks very inviting. I am sorry to say we were truly disappointed with our breakfast. My husband ordered the "English" breakfast which was, 2 eggs, 2 slices of bacon, two anaemic chicken sausages, 1 slice of toast (no butter), kidney beans (Very odd) and raw cherry tomatoes. It was not well cooked and quite frankly awful. I tried to order potato waffle with mushrooms and extra bacon but ended up 15 minutes after my husbands breakfast arrived ,with a kind of pale floppy potato waffle, bacon, smoked salmon (which i don't eat) cream cheese and a poached egg. There was definitely miscommunication with the staff. My coffee was cold and my husbands black tea was some strange concoction in a teapot he didn't drink. Its a shame, the staff were very friendly, we established this place is Russian owned (With the name we thought for some reason it was Aussie owned) and therefore ordering an English brekkie was probably not ideal. It was 720THB for quite frankly one of the worst breakfasts we have had in...
Read moreWe stopped by for dinner yesterday. A bottle of wine was ordered for the dishes. After ordering, we saw a booklet with bonuses from the institution on the table. In our case, on Saturday, when ordering wine, there is a cheese plate, and in addition it is indicated that the discount on wines is 20%. We called the waiter to bring us a cheese plate. But, the waiter explained that either a discount or a cheese plate. We began to explain that the booklet does not say about the choice, it says that the discount is in addition to other promotions! But in the end, we didn't get a cheese plate. The manager did not approach us in any way and did not try to settle the issue. Dear owners, form your promotions, bonuses, discounts and other offers correctly. The food was delicious, as was the wine, but the...
Read moreWe had a few really good breakfasts here - generous portions and fairly reasonable. Good quality and fresh.
However…. last night we went for dinner there, had Thai food and asked if any of the dishes contained nuts as my partner has a severe allergy and the server confirmed no. Sadly my partner had a big allergic reaction. I informed the manager but I’d say she was quite dismissive just saying “no nuts in those dishes” - I assume it was due to poor handling of nuts and therefore cross contamination. I’d be very very cautious here if you have a nut allergy. We had to leave the meal and the manager did not offer any compensation and as I said, didn’t seem very concerned 😦. She said that my partner must be allergic to something else which he isn’t. We sadly won’t be...
