Such an amazing place to stay, highly recommend! Would’ve given 5 but a few things put it down||There were some not so good things to comment on…| 1. On entering our room there was a dead cockroach in the bathroom, luckily I didn’t see another in the room for the rest of our stay. However there were ants occasionally as the balcony door actually has a small gap. |2. There was a bad leak in the bathroom and toilet so every morning you went to the toilet you were walking through a puddle. Did mention and we also kept putting a towel down to soak it up which housekeeping would remove and not replace so when we came back to the room there was just water all over again. |3. On one night when we came back there was a puddle as you came in and the AC then went on to rain on my boyfriend (which admittedly was really funny to me) |4. Toilets by the pool… an experience. The first time using them I had an itch on my leg, I looked down…. A COCKROACH! Which then continued to run around the stall as I silently screamed. The most annoying thing about this was that there were cleaners there sat down on their phones while the toilets were dirty, with no toilet paper or paper towels. Fortunately after that day the toilets seemingly improved. But the cleaners were still sat there while you’re wondering why there’s no toilet paper and it’s because she’s using it as a chair. |5. The food was okay. I could find things I liked but it became quite boring. Quite a lot of flies. It was a bit confusing in the restaurant upstairs. As half of it has reservation signs on but when we asked to make a reservation the lady said they don't take reservations. We pointed out about the signs I mentioned and she said only on special occasions. Now I get a big family to reserve a table as it was quite hectic up there. But it was also the same couples and fours with reservations. So I just don’t understand unless it took a tip to get that. ||But on a positive note |The staff were really friendly! You could have a good laugh with them and they gave a very good professional service. In the morning the lovely lady who was making the donuts she was so happy having a little sing! The chefs were all great! |From the bar inside Saif N was especially nice and stood out to us for his fantastic service. |Poolside Bar we loved Teher and Ali! Happy all the time and so friendly! Always good to see a friendly face to give you a coffee on a hangover haha |The animation team were all great! Shady was great unfortunately his name was the only one we remember but they were all fantastic! Shady has a great energy always positive vibes! Definitely has a big future in music! |But the biggest thank you to Fethi and Haythem the lifeguards! The kindest most friendly staff. Made our stay really great. They have both got such good attitudes, have a good laugh and good chats. We want to come back just to see them!! They also have good floaties/toys for the pool. ||The pool was definitely the best part. We could go to the other hotel for their pool but we’re big kids so this pool was definitely better. Bel Azurs one is just a bit plain.|3pm-5pm it was snack time. Pizza and crepes! Soooo goooood! I want more! ||The entertainment was quite good tbf. Had a couple of singers on different nights by the pool which the more you drink the better it was. But more entertainment if you go down between Sol and Bel Azur. Which we enjoyed the entertainment there when we did see it. On Tuesday they had dancers in the pool which I enjoyed a lot. |Bel Azur has a nightclub which again I actually really enjoyed, it doesn’t get going until 11pm. You can request songs. Definitely a fun walk back to Sol Azur when you’re drunk. |The beach was absolutely stunning! We had a sea-view room and wow! Just beautiful. Swimming in the pool looking down at the beach. The views amazing. Of course there are a few people trying to sell you stuff on the beach but I say buy something. Why not? It’s so cheap and it’s a memory. From a guy we got a bracelet and a necklace. The lady we got henna tattoos from which looked great!!! She has been doing them for years! Get one! ||BOOK EXCURSIONS THROUGH THE HOTEL! It’s so easy to book through them and go on fun trips! We went jet skiing and it was incredible! We’ve done it in the Uk but that’s just not the same! Although scary to see the jellyfish bobbing around! We spoke to some people who had booked without the hotel somewhere for the jet skis and they got taken out to sea and asked for more money for them to get back. Which is just stupid because the hotel leave a leaflet in the room which specifically says to only book excursions through the hotel. So just listen to the information you’re given to be safe. ||All in all I would 100% come again. Not straight away but I will definitely be back. I look...
Read moreI wanted to share an honest review of Sol Azur Beach Hotel, as I feel a lot of the online reviews and photos are misleading. The hotel is okay for a one-off week in the sun, but it definitely does not live up to its four-star rating.||First Impressions|When we arrived, the hotel looked quite different from the pictures online. It is generally clean, but dated, with stains on walls and areas that clearly need refurbishment. On our first night there was a power cut that affected the whole area, which lasted until the next morning.||Facilities and Atmosphere|The hotel only has one pool, despite photos suggesting an infinity pool overlooking the beach or an indoor pool. The pool itself is nice and refreshing, although there is very little shade available, so be prepared if you like to sit out of the sun. Around the hotel there is also a frequent strong smell of sewage, especially noticeable by the pool.||The beach is stunning, with clear and warm water, although very salty. Sunbeds are limited and hard to find unless you arrive early. We often tipped the lifeguard who did his best to help us find one each day.||Drinks are served in very small paper cups, which was surprising compared to other four-star hotels where you’d expect proper glasses or at least plastic cups.||Cleanliness and Pests|One of the biggest downsides for us was the ants. They are everywhere. If you leave a cup on the side by the pool, it will quickly be covered in ants. The same goes for your room—if you leave a cup with even a little residue, you’ll find a lot of ants inside.||The hotel also has cats around the resort. While we love animals, it was extremely upsetting to see them in such poor condition. Many appeared malnourished, with bald patches, sore skin, and in some cases, eye problems. The staff didn’t seem to care, which made it even more difficult to watch. Even if some are strays, they are still on the property and it was heartbreaking to see them in this state.||Food and Drink|The food is okay but nothing special. There are long queues for popular items at peak times—omelettes, pancakes, pastries in the morning, and dishes like liver or chips at lunch. In the afternoon by the pool, pizzas are served with a short wait, but crepes always had a long queue.||If you’re a fussy eater, you may struggle. There’s usually pizza, plain pasta, and sauce available, but not much else that’s consistently simple.||Rooms|Our room was spacious with a nice balcony, although the balcony light didn’t work. I asked reception three times for it to be fixed, but it never was. The shower pressure was very good, and housekeeping did an excellent job keeping the room clean with fresh sheets daily.||The main issue was the air conditioning. It was almost non-existent, and the room was very hot at night. We often had to leave the balcony doors open to get a breeze. The beds were basic but manageable.||Staff and Guests|Most of the staff were friendly and helpful, especially our cleaner and the lifeguard, though there were some who seemed less welcoming. Unfortunately, some of the guests were very rude, and we even witnessed a fight at breakfast one morning.||Outside the resort, we also had a negative experience. While walking near the shops, a man tried to get me into his store, and when I declined, he became aggressive and accused me of having a problem with him, which was quite intimidating.||Entertainment|Entertainment is shared with the sister hotel next door. It was fine, not amazing, but gave you something to do in the evenings.||Overall|This hotel is okay if you are looking for a chilled week by the pool or the beach, soaking up the sun and not expecting too much else. For the price we paid, including flights, it was fair. However, it is not a four-star hotel, more like a three-star at best.||The beach is beautiful and the atmosphere relaxed, but the ants, poor air conditioning, misleading advertising, and upsetting condition of the cats made it less enjoyable. Other reviews made this place sound much better than it really is. It’s fine for one holiday, but I don’t think it’s somewhere you’d want to return to again and again—you’d...
Read moreFrom the moment we arrived, it became painfully clear that this was not the luxurious break we had envisioned, but rather a stay in a run-down, dilapidated establishment. Our first room was nothing short of appalling—a basement dungeon with mould-infested walls and a revolting sewage stench. The room was in such an unhygienic state that we couldn’t believe it had ever been cleaned: hair and residue on the floor, stains and hair on the duvet and bedsheets, broken tiles, filth in the bathroom, and to top it off, a dried-up cockroach lying on its back in the toilet, clearly having been there for a long time. After the first night, both my friend and I woke up with sore throats and hoarse voices, and my friend developed a persistent cough, all of which I can only attribute to the mouldy conditions. Despite requesting a change of room, the second room was hardly an improvement—still riddled with mould and nowhere near the standard of a 4-star hotel. I’ve attached pictures of this so-called ‘better room,’ as we were too shocked and exhausted to photograph the first one. The dining experience was no better: breakfast was inedible, leaving us no choice but to eat pancakes (the only thing prepared freshly) daily—the only remotely acceptable item available. Lunch and dinner were similarly disappointing, and I suffered food poisoning on day five. This caused me to miss critical doses of my cancer treatment medication due to severe diarrhoea and vomiting. Given that we exclusively ate at the hotel, this was deeply concerning. Additionally, basic services were either non-existent or shockingly subpar: No room service or laundry services and no kettle or fridge in the room, despite being expected in a 4-star facility, Air conditioning was inadequate, barely functioning in our room (as well as extremely dirty and mouldy) and completely absent in common areas like the dining room, where windows were kept open instead, Both rooms were infested with cockroaches and ants, Facilities like the indoor swimming pool and gym, which were advertised as being part of the hotel on your website, were in fact located at a nearby establishment, not at our hotel. Dirty towels in the room that, despite supposedly being washed, were full of stains We had to scramble to connect to the almost non-existent WiFi just to send them an email of our booking confirmation. The staff offered no basic information about check-in/out times, amenities, or activities available. Speaking of WiFi, it was a consistent frustration—completely unavailable in our rooms and unusable elsewhere due to painfully slow speeds. The state of the hotel itself was appalling: The dining room was filthy, with dirty, stained tablecloths and unclean plates and cutlery (you had to choose the least dirty option and hope for the best) The pool area was a mess, with guests leaving towels on sunbeds for hours while absent, making it impossible to find a place to relax. Staff took no action to rectify this. Furthermore, as we are two friends with differing schedules, the lack of a second room key was extremely inconvenient, especially since the unreliable WiFi made it impossible to coordinate when we couldn’t access the room. We asked for the second key multiple times but were always denied. top of all of this, we had deeply uncomfortable interactions with some staff members. A waiting staff member approached my friend during dinner to ask for her social media details, and after she declined, he persisted in stubbornly asking for her phone n top of all of this, we had deeply uncomfortable interactions with some staff members. A waiting staff member approached my friend during dinner to ask for her social media details, and after she declined, he persisted in stubbornly asking for her phone number. This behavior was entirely inappropriate. Additionally, at the pool, a staff member touched her foot without permission as he passed by while she was relaxing on a sunbed. Another pool staff member, while handing me a towel, acted in a "playful" but disrespectful...
