If you are stating in the nearby 5 star hotels do not have lunch in the hotel if you would like to try local food. Here at monplaisir the owner has cooked up different meals everyday at a fraction of the cost of the hotel lunch. Around 4 to 8 euros per person including drinks and coffee, this place is amazing I recommend 100%. He has a menu but if you talk to him and reserve from one day to the next his wife will make traditional Tunisian meals for you.

Food was fantastic, service even better! The owner is so friendly and welcoming, gave us plenty of time to order and recommend spices/sauces for our options. The quality of the food was fanatic, so tasty and it is an absolute bargain for what you get. We ordered two milkshakes, a brik, a panini, a Makloub and a portion of chips and it came to 40 dinar, equivalent of £10 sterling. Would highly recommend!

Food here is the absolutely lovely. Chips the best we've had in Hammamet. Pizza, Makloub and chips, 5/5. Lovely guy too. Thank you. From the couple with our own Heinz tomato ketchup!

Stopped by for lunch and ordered 2 burgers with fries and 2 colas. Unfortunately, the experience was disappointing.

The location is right next to a busy road and the place looked quite dirty, both inside and out. Service started off fine, but took a strange turn when the server sat down at the table next to us and didn’t even notice that we were trying to pay. It’s frustrating to be left waiting like that when you’re clearly done and ready to leave.

As for the food, the burger wasn’t anything special. The meat was full of sinew, and honestly, I couldn’t even tell what kind of meat it was. Definitely not a quality product.

I’m genuinely confused by the restaurant’s current 4.9-star rating. Based on my visit, that rating seems completely unjustified. Either standards have dropped significantly, or previous reviews are extremely generous.

I’m leaving 1 star — not to be unfair, but to help bring the overall score closer to what this place...

This place is amazing. very nice people making typical Tunisian dishes for you at a very low cost. You have to try their chips, they are the best ones I ever tried in my life. Also, if you talked to them a day prior and order them, they will make very special Tunisian food. I very strongly recommend you to try ojja merguez, a special dish with olives, chicken, and vegetables. It is required to order it one day prior. At the same day, please try their sandwiches and omelettes. I love this place. We have been located in a five star hotel, very luxury, but we preferred to have lunch at this place, rather than...

We were staying in one of the hotels opposite this little cafe and popped in during lunch time when we didn't fancy eating at the hotel. From that day we came back every afternoon for lunch. The food was very good and fresh, and the price was very low, a full lunch for two of us cost less than one lunch dish at the hotel. The man working in the cafe was always very friendly - greeting us warmly and offering us suggestions of what to eat.

We ate in the cafe sometimes and also sometimes took the food as takeaway to eat around the pool...
