My husband and I had a fantastic stay 2 week stay at the Hôtel Résidence Romane and we highly recommend it. We stayed the last week of April /first week of May 2024. This is a quiet and small family run Hotel. The staff are very polite, more than helpful and very friendly. Maryama has excellent English and a font of knowledge. ||||The rooms are very comfortable and clean, a little tired in places but they are in the process of decorating. Amenia will be happy to get you anything to need to make your stay comfortable and is constantly decorating your bed with rose petals and towel animals||||The food in the restaurant is kosher. The chief is more than happy to cook traditional Tunisian Meals that are not on the menu if you ask them a day in advance. Mr Kays English is good and a larger than life character.||||My husband and I both have long hair. He has wonderful long dark curly hair and I have dead straight and the hairdresser did a fantastic cut for both of us. At a reasonable price too. ||||As it is a Muslim country there is no alcohol allowed in the pool area or restaurant but there is alcohol free beer available. You are welcome to drink alcohol inside your room though. There are also restaurants that you can go into that serve alcohol but they will all be indoors, so you can not enjoy a pint or a glass of wine in the sun.||||The pool lovely and clean and is heated like the sea, by the sun so it is cold but refreshing, it will be warmer by August but they are building a second heated pool that will be used during the colder months. ||||There was only one night where it was a bit noisy but that was when the teens football team came to stay for one night. Young boys being young boys they were very excited to be away and they were also excited to be playing at the stadium next to the medina, so a little rowdy. They were very polite and apologetic when we asked them the keep the noise down on our floor. ||||The only downfall of the holiday was we in the hotel the same time as Rebekah R. She was the room below us and I can report she was a problem guest who like to throw her weight around. We found her very rude and aggressive to the staff. She disturbed some of our meal times with her drunkenness and smashing of bowls. During her hair treatment she was constantly walking to the pool area to make a call or send a text instead of staying put in the hairdressers chair. This is not how we conduct ourselves in the UK. Again remember Tunisia is a Muslim country so there are rules to follow about taking guests back to you room to start the night. If you are single you can’t just invite people back. ||||All in all we will be returning next year in September/ October time when the pool and weather is...
Read moreI stayed at this hotel for a week, staff are fantastic and lovely, a perfect holiday stay for Muslim friendly they don’t sell any alcohol which is good. The rooms are basic as you would expect in a hotel of 3 star only problem was the toilet flush wasn’t working and when I told them at reception they fixed it straight away. The beach is not as close as I originally thought but it’s about 10mins walk. To be honest only disappointed was the beach which wasn’t as pleasant, When we went to the beach the beach chair was hired out to people for money who didn’t even stay at our hotel and we had to wait for somebody to leave before we had a chair. I did not like the beach. The pool in the hotel is great there was 2 pools 1 indoor and 1 outdoor and you can swim with a Burkini, It’s not too far from the main centre it’s about 15-20min walk which is pleasant, when you come out of the hotel and just walk to your right and it’s just straight rd to centre. I did not bother taking a taxi as they will probably recommend you to go to Yasmine to charge you more money. Our room in the hotel was done daily and Ameena is so wonderful and loving to my kids just could not resist giving her tip daily when she cleaned our room. Also Maria & Manager really helpful, Offered me lots of excursions and things to do while in Tunisia. Cannot recommend this hotel and Tunisia enough, can’t wait to...
