Average/below average for what you pay for. On my last few nights in Tunis I wanted a standard, comfortable, nameless hotel stay aligning to this price range by international standards.
The photos speak for themselves. Exposed electricals, random holes in the walls, lights not working, as someone mentioned already an ill thought out bathroom layout where even a small woman like me could barely sit comfortably on the toilet due to its proximity to the wall.
Room telephone did not work to ring down to reception, in the room itself there wasn’t even the absolute basics of a hotel room - no literature ie to show breakfast times, telephone number for reception (telephone didn’t work anyways) check in check out times.
IMPORTANT Also, on two occasions housekeeping burst into my room not once but TWICE in one morning without knocking first! Even once they saw me in bed they still tried to speak to me in Arabic. This has only happened to me in one other hotel in all my travels around the world, it’s like basic hotel 101.
No kettle, no fridge, no disposable slippers. Just one body towel, one hair towel, bar of soap, shampoo and shower gel.
Plus point for the breakfast which offered good variety - when it was available. As soon as it’s 10am they start cleaning everything away - in a few minutes if you’re not quick enough it’s all gone, even if you’re already sitting there. I turned my back on the buffet area expecting to get a coffee and pastry after my eggs and when I turned around shortly after it was all packed away.
The reception staff are passable, breakfast staff downright rude and clearly don’t like their jobs wanting to get out of there asap. Also, drinks are served in paper cups for some reason. Probably easier for them to finish.
Also as someone else mentioned, the hallway on my floor stank of cigarette smoke.
All in all, even though expectations weren’t high anyways for mid-range standard corporate hotel, this fell...
Read moreI had the most horrible and unpleasant experience with this hotel. First, the pre-arrival communication is awful. Whatever message you send them, you get an automated message simply saying "thanks for staying at our hotel." After letting them know in advance that I will be arriving around midnight due to my flight time, I never heard from them. Upon arrival, they said they had electricity problems in the floor I was supposed to stay at, therefore they needed to send me to another hotel altogether. On top of not communicating that with me in advance, they expected me to pay for the taxi to get to the hotel they decided to place me at. I made it clear to the staff that since the problem was from their side, there's no way I was going to pay for a taxi to go to a totally different hotel. After much back and forth, they agreed to get me a taxi to another hotel, which was HORRIBLE. For some strange reason, I ended up staying my entire 3 days of booking in that other hotel and never heard from these guys again. The replacement hotel and its staff were equally horrible and unprofessional. Overall, my experience was really bad, and unfortunately I neither recommend this hotel nor will ever book with them...
