We stayed at Hampton by Hilton Gaziantep for two nights during our visit to the city for a wedding. The reason that we chose this hotel was due to the hotel being central and being a Hilton group hotel. ||We arrived at the hotel in several groups and the welcome was consistently warm and helpful. Being a diamond member, I was upgraded even though the rooms were pretty standard as this is classified as a 3 star hotel. ||When I first got into my room on floor 7, I thought it was a pretty cool room with a welcome plate of fruits waiting in the room due to my Hilton status. Unfortunately, there was a humid mouldy smell in the room but it got better once the air conditioning started working with the room key. The room offered wall attached shampoos and hand washes but it was pretty minimal in terms of the bathroom amenities. The fridge has 2 bottles of complimentary water which was really welcome considering the heat of Gaziantep. The shower pressure wasn't great due to being on the top floor, so I would recommend choosing a room on a lower floor if possible.||In terms of location, the hotel is super central which we really enjoyed. The Havaş airport shuttles are departing right next to the hotel and take 35 minutes to the airport which is super convenient. Also it's really easy to visit the main attractions of the city due to the central location.||Our breakfast was included in the hotel bill and the variety was great with some local delicacies and lots of choices. While the fruit juices and coffee could be improved in this area (there is only filter and instant coffee), the rest of the options for breakfast were great.||Overall, we enjoyed our stay due to the convenience of its location. The rooms met all our needs. But we were not wowed by the quality of the rooms or amenities. If you evaluate the hotel as a good value hotel, it is great but the expectations shouldn't be at Hilton level since this is a lower tier chain in Hilton's portfolio. I wish they could do something about the room smells when Aircon is not...

Read moreIf there was less than one star that is what I would give this place. The management team was poor. They tried to scam us. We had reserved our stay and prepaid from the U.S. prior to our arrival. We checked in and showed our 2 passports as asked at check in.
We booked for about 2 weeks from 8/18/21 to 9/1/21 and a day prior to leaving the management team gave us a bill for an additional $200 USD. We shared that we already prepaid but they would not give up and said we didn't disclose that we are two people instead of one, but we did disclose that upon check in when we showed our U.S. passports and got checked in for 2. When we contested it they tried to haggle us and said oh ok we'll talk half of the $200. In the end we couldn't leave without paying the extra fee which we paid in full on top of what we had already paid for the two weeks.
we wanted to share our experience as warning to other travelers, if you do not not wish to have this happen to you, I would not stay at this establishment.
We love Hampton and Hilton properties and stayed at many Hilton/Hampton properties throughout our 3 month trip in Turkey but this property should lose its Hampton/Hilton status not only due to poor management and a mean team but also overall the property isn't the cleanest either, although the breakfast people were nice and the cook was kind.
