A beautiful and peaceful haven, we absolutely loved our stay at Sunset Beach Club in Calis, The property is right on the beach and a short walk or scooter ride to the main promenade with restaurants, bars and shops, It is the perfect spot. Although the complex is large and we stayed during May half term, it was very quiet and relaxing - this is not one of those ultra busy, 24/7 entertainment party complexes! It is very low key, very attractive, relaxing and perfect! |Some of the apartments and villas are privately owned, some are rented via various agents, we rented through Aqua Lettings on Booking.Com and cannot speak highly enough of their kind and attentive service. Nothing was too much trouble, they did a grocery shop for us so we had drinks and snacks in the fridge when we arrived ate at night. They stayed late to check us in. They even upgraded our accommodation as a (most welcome and thoroughly unexpected) surprise. We had the best holiday there and loved every second. |We hired electric three wheeled scooters and enjoyed riding into the Calis Bridge area for slightly busier evenings. We ate at the onsite restaurant and also ordered take out from there a couple of times to eat around the pool at our villa. We had plenty of sunbeds, comfortable beds and sufficient cooking utensils to make simple meals like breakfast. I took a bunch of dishwasher tablets with me but I think they actually sell them singly at the onsite minimarket. There is a Migros local a few minutes walk away for fresh fruit and veg plus a wider range of supplies, a bigger Migros a few minutes on from that one plus a massive MMM Migros about 15 minutes away by electric bike. The onsite facilities include bike hire or you can hire quads and electric bikes/scooters very easily from a number of places within minutes of the complex. |There is 24hr security - although I have to say the entire Calis area felt incredibly safe to us, there is a lovely wholesome vibe which we all loved (ages 9, 2 x teenagers, 21yr old and myself - much older!).|My personal recommendation for an unmissable day trip would be Animals Excurions Wet & Wild safari - our entire party loved it!|Stay at the Sunset Beach Club with Aqua Lettings - you...
Read moreBooked directly with aqua lettings this year. No problems at all. We initially booked for April but had to move this to late sept. Aqua lettings immediately transferred our deposit to the new booking. Check in was quick and easy (tip, get your transport to drop you off at the beach and of the resort much less walking). We booked a 1 bed apartment. In this development all 1 bed apartments are ground floor and larger apartments are duplex first floor. The apartment was clean and functional, it's clearly an apartment for letting, the furnishings were fit for purpose and all in good condition. The 1 bed is a small apartment, ideal for two but we took our 22 year old daughter and managed just fine. The apartment was good value for money but it's the complex that gets this the five stars. It's a long complex with a main central boulevard and long open areas with multiple pools both sides. From most ground floor apartments you are only a few steps from a pool and loungers. Considering the size of the resort the pools are very quiet, many days the 3 of us would share a lovely 20 metre pool with just 1 or two others. There is a private, mostly shingle, beach at the top end. The site is kept to an immaculate standard, lots of flowering plants climbing the buildings make it look really attractive. At the top end of the site is a bar bar\resteraunt and small shop which stocks all the basics. Mohammed runs the bar and all his staff are friendly and courteous. Prices are a little bit higher than the town but marginally so and some nights it's nice to relax on resort. C19 precautions were followed to the letter at all times. The shop is a typical site shop and can provide all the basics. We mostly shopped at MMM Migros or Lidl in calis. Just outside both gates to the complex is a bus stop taking you to calis or fethiye. If you ask the guard nicely they will ring you a taxi if you wish which costs around £2 to calis and £5 to fethiye. We have visited this complex twice and...
Read moreWe have just returned from our third visit to Sunset Beach Resort having previously stayed in a villa and in an apartment there. We booked Lighthouse 32 at Sunset Beach for three weeks through Aqua Lettings and what a disappointment. We arrived at 1 a.m. to be greeted by the manager with keys only to be asked to pay the balance. Having already paid a deposit £680 it came as a shock to have to count out £1,600 in £20/10 notes as soon as we put our cases down. We awoke the next morning to find: no welcome pack (not even a glass of water), we had slept on a blood stained pillow, no bath mats, no coat hangers, no T towels, no ironing board, no safe (have been burgled before in Calis this was of great importance to us), insufficient storage for two peoples clothing (child’s wardrobe in the second bedroom) a shower tray that was cracked and had holes in, a bath with no plug, no plugs for any sinks which is strange as we were in an environment where we are asked to save water, the laminate on the kitchen units was either hanging off or was stuck on with sticky tape. There was only one clean/bedding & towel exchange in three weeks. The manager did resolve some of the above issues after we complained. To cap it all shortly after our arrival the Sunset Beach staff removed all the mattresses from the beach beds which left them so uncomfortable to use we avoided them. All in all a very bad experience staying in dilapidated accommodation caused by owners not committed to maintaining standards and no real property management. If you are considering staying at Sunset Beach think carefully and do thorough research but I would strongly recommend avoid using...
