Castle Beach Hotel — Hotel in Manavgat

If it’s a quiet location then this is not the place for you! The GUA restaurant turns into a nightclub from 12:00 into the early hours every night. We stayed in our room for one night with little sleep. The hotel accommodated our request to move to quieter rooms which helped. Nowhere on the reviews did it mention this. We would not have booked if it had. ||Breakfast is Turkish .. if you don’t like eggs, salad, cheese and bread each day then there are various bars and restaurants nearby where you can purchase breakfast for £10. |Food very fresh. We had dinner here one night and the food was delicious. ||Side is not cheap. It’s on par with Englands prices but with great weather and views. |Most days at breakfast we were ignored by staff who chose to cater for other nationalities until we asked if we could be served. Some days we were waiting 20-25 minutes without being offered a glass of water. The restaurant is badly managed which is a shame as it’s such a stunning place. ||Good points: |Bohemian feel to the place. It is basic but that’s what we like. It was clean, and we got extra pillows and blankets on request. |It’s right on the beach. No pebbles, spotless with waiter service from GUA restaurant. |Reception staff & all other staff absolutely lovely and very helpful. Manager very friendly and accommodating. Hotel is managed much better than the restaurant. |Our AHU broke and the maintenance person fixed it the same day. ||Feedback. |Showers not so good. They could do with replacing. |Two free bottles of water each day which is a nice touch. We had week here and came away with a very mixed view of the hotel. The positives: it is in a great location, the sunbeds and beach are superb and some of the staff - Caner the night manager and the cleaning staff are worth a mention. Caner looked after us very well after we had a flight delay and didn't get to the hotel until 3am and the cleaning staff took good care of our room. On the negative side the breakfast is poor. The hot choices were not good and didn't look appetising. The food was the same each morning and there was very limited fruit on offer - only apples! The staff just did not look like they were enjoying being there and did not engage with us at all. Each time we had food or drinks nobody seemed to go round the guests to check how we were doing or seem interested in what we wanted to order. We also found that the resident discount was not applied to our bill on several occasions and we had to ask for it to be added on... a bit sloppy really. The rooms are nice but ours had a few maintenance issues ( shower head didn't stay in the holder, wet bathroom floor, and the air con was faulty ( which to be fair did get mended quickly). It is a nice hotel and we did have a good week in Side but I think some customer service training for the staff might be a good investment and a little bit more of an eye for detail on the small things that can make a hotel a 'very good' hotel you want to come back to and recommend...

Although we had an excellent holiday with many positives, we will not be returning to this hotel. ||Fantastic location, walking distance to the old town which is beautiful, many options for local fresh cuisine and cocktail bars (UK prices generally). ||The beach was excellent, very clean, clear warm waters. The beach staff were excellent, couldn't fault them and the beach food menu was of excellent quality. ||Breakfast at the hotel was excellent, very fresh and healthy. Service at breakfast was slow but staff were happy to help. ||The room was very clean and freshly prepared each day. Bathroom was sufficient but shower was of a low quality. ||The hotel itself is attached the hotel restaurant which doubles as a nightclub. We were told when we checked in that music would end at 1am (we were ok with this), the music went on until 3/4am every night of our 10 night holiday. The music was so loud, we could hear every word clearly from our bed. |We requested to move multiple times at reception but they said nothing could be done. No alternative solution was provided and frankly, they didn't really care, so we left our holiday feeling more tired than when we arrived! ||Despite the positives and although we will likely return to Side, we will NOT be returning to this hotel and would NOT...
