Great food, very beautiful garden and clean hotel rooms (we stayed in one of the bungalows)! Everything was exactly as shown in the pictures on the website and on YouTube. We were there in June, so the temperatures and weather were perfect (25-30°C).
FOOD is fresh, delicious and varied. We were surprised by the excellent quality and taste. Various Turkish dishes but also always some international options and daily specials (Kebap, Seafood, etc.). As a vegetarian I was very content while my boyfriend also enjoyed meat and fish. BEACH is very beautiful with only sand and clean, shallow, warm water. It's well looked after by staff and you can take drinks from the hotel bar with you. Very close to the rooms, you only need to cross a small promenade to get to the beach. ROOMS aren't fancy, but beyond acceptable for the price, good size, clean and with comfortable beds. Rooms aren't very soundproof though: Depending on the location and your neighbours, it might be loud some nights because of nearby clubs - but not after midnight, as it is not allowed to play music in public after that in Turkey. SERVICE is great; there's only exceptionally friendly staff that is well qualified for handling tourists/hotel guests. LOCATION is perfect for strolling along the sea, shopping, visiting the old town centre with museums and ruins, going to beach bars etc. all within walking distance. It's neither too busy nor too calm with always something to watch as people pass by on the promenade. No big city vibes, main roads or ugly concrete hotel complex plastered beaches.
CONCLUSION: positive: food, location, appearance, staff, cleanliness, beach, service, price negative: rooms aren't...
Read moreThe good first.... Fantastic beachfront location, nice citrus trees . Excellent cleaners. Lovely sandy beach ( see below though) . Reception staff very pleasant. ||The average...... Food , only catered for Turkish and German tastes, breakfast especially . Would have liked some healthy cereal and English breakfast items. Only cereal available 'kids' cereals and okay if you want four types of eggs, olives and salad items , definately not for us Brits! So glad i brought tea bags and a travel kettle. Hot food in evening luke warm and samey. And cats are everywhere in the restaurant. |Rooms very average , thin walls and walkway outside meant we could hear everyone else. Rooms need modernising. ||The bad....... All other guests were German. So we felt a bit isolated. Waiting staff spoke very little English. We arrived around 11pm and within 10 minutes of being in our room. The German bloke in the next room was banging on our door telling us to be quiet! He was then banging on the wall literally five minutes after we returned from a walk. Reception were called after he demanded we were moved! This was not the start we wanted. British guests just don't behave like this!|There was no entertainment at all in the evenings, the pool was consistently in the shade so no one used it. ||The really horribe.... There are lots of stray dogs in the resort and on a few occassions there was dog poo on the beach which was really nasty. There was a rather miserable guy employed to look after the hotel's sunbeds, he really needs to be...
Read moreWe spent a week at Hotel Özlem Garden and honestly, it was one of the most relaxing vacations I’ve had in a long time. The hotel has a great location—right on the beach and just a short walk from the center of Side, so you’re close to shops, cafes, and the beautiful old town, but still tucked away in a peaceful spot.
The bungalows are simple but really charming. They’re cleaned every day, the beds are comfortable, and there’s just enough space. Don’t expect luxury, but everything is clean and works, and being surrounded by the garden makes it feel cozy and a bit unique compared to standard hotels.
The food surprised me in a good way. The buffet isn’t huge, but the quality is consistent and everything is fresh. Lots of veggies, great local flavors, and the staff is happy to help if you have dietary needs. Breakfast with a view of the sea was my favorite part of the day.
One of the biggest highlights was the staff—everyone was kind, helpful, and welcoming without being overbearing. It’s clear they care about the guests and do their best to make sure you’re enjoying your stay. It’s not a five-star service, but it’s honest, personal, and warm, which honestly felt better.
The beach area is clean, with plenty of loungers, and it’s just a few steps from the hotel. The sea is shallow and perfect for swimming, even for less confident swimmers. And the sunsets? Absolutely beautiful.
If you’re looking for a quiet, friendly place to unwind, with authentic Turkish hospitality and a perfect beach vibe, Özlem Garden is a...
