When we arrived at hotel, the reception was busy and so checking in was fast. They photocopied our passports and asked if we wanted AC. AC costs 3 euro a day. The receptionist said he will come with information later. He never did. So the reception welcome was not good.||||The hotel room itself was clean. We luckily got a room that had a balcony with a seaview. Our room was on the last floor R405. The room with the best view is R404 and R403. We met another couple that had a different room R407 and it seems that not all rooms have a small living room and bedroom space, which we did. They had just a bedroom and a bathroom. The maid came in everyday and asked if we wanted to have the room cleaned. We are very tidy so she did not need to clean the room everyday and asked her to come every other day. We stayed for 7 days.||||The hotel had dark corridors and the lighting is really bad. There is no elevator so if you get a room high up in the 4th floor like we did, it will be a steep climb and a badly lit staircase. There was a strange smell like liniment also in the corridors. ||||The swimming pool was small and it was 1.6m in one end and 1.5m on the other end. It is okej if you just want to have a nice short dip after being out in the sun and beach all day.||||The restaurant has free wifi. There is no wifi reception in the rooms. Even if they say there is. ||||The hotel is just behind the restaurant. We had breakfast included and the restaurant's breakfast was soso. It did not have any variation and not so many to choose at all. If you come at 9.30am. There hardly are any sausages or cheese sticks left. ||||The restaurants personnel were not so friendly to us. They were polite but they hardly smiled. I don't think they were so happy that we did not eat there often. The beach was okej. It was very crowded. The sunchairs and umbrellas have seen better days and some don't even have umbrellas. You can order drinks from the restaurant and they come to you with it. You can't bring food and drinks to their beach. The beach itself is sandy, unclear, wavy and really salty. Not ideal for swimming in. Good if you enjoy just wading around playing with the big waves.||||First time we arrived, we ordered 2 salads and 3 beers. When we were going to pay, they had a handwritten receipt that you can't almost read. I think, they didn't know we were staying at their hotel but we thought it suspicious. As a tip, most restaurants in this area cheat at your orders one way or another. So never! accept anything that they suggest (wherever restaurant you go to) without asking for the price. We learned it the hard way. We appreciated restaurants that had their receipt printed. So you know exactly what you bought. This was not one of them.||||This was our first time to travel to Turkey and we did not like it. I don't know if this is only this part of Side but we thought that people in general there were very rude and always scheming and plotting to cheat you. They will speak a little bit of you language to impress you. Say they have relatives there. Basically, lie to get you offguard. It was not only us because at the end of the day, we could hear other people from other tables in the restaurants we went to, talking about their day and how they have been cheated by a restaurant, a store or tourist attraction agency. You have to always be on your guard and that is stressfull for us tourists who just want to relax. If you plan to do any acivity, like jeep safari. A touring agency called Tony Macaroni, said 45 euro and then they say 25 euro. You would think it is a bargain but if you check at agencies a bit away from the beach, you can get it for 17 euro. Same thing with Hamam and the other tours like boat rides. ||||Another tip, if you go to their old town (just a few minutes walk from the beach). Everything there is more expensive and the shops there are devils who will cheat you. Do not accept anything they offer you. They will offer (more like force) you a cup of tea for example. They say it costs about 4.5 euros per 100 gram. By the beach, you can buy tea for 2 euros that is 400g.||||They are also keen on that you give tips everywhere you go. We bought our charter ticket via Apollo. Even the driver for picking us up at the airport and back (which we have paid for), has a tipbox. The safaris you pay for, they will also want tips and some of the places in the "safari package" you visit will have some entrance fees too.||||The stores there are very bad at putting price tags. So you never know what the price really is when you are buying something. My husband went to get a haircut, they will force you drinks and extras there without you asking. It is the same if you go to some restaurants, they will force you stuff like bread and dessert, without you asking. Either you get it in your strangley priced bill or they expect that you give a well deserved tip way more than what you wanted to buy for.||||If you want to visit Turkey, and this part of Side. I have given you a fair warning now. I suppose you can have a good time if you are good at saying no. My husband and I tried to think the best out of people when we were there and we had a hard time saying no. That is why we end up being victims almost every day when we were there.||||One thing is for sure. We will not be having holidays in Turkey again.||With that said, if you still plan to go to Turkey then this is a budget hotel. It is close to the beach. If you are not picky with what room you will get, (you get it random at the reception it seems) then this place is decent to stay in. The rooms are not well isolated so you can hear everything, especially the loud music at the...
Read moreWe stayed at Sunflower Hotel for one week in late August to early September, and we both had a fantastic time. The location is unbeatable—right on the beach, with the sea just steps away. Waking up to the sound of the waves and enjoying morning coffee on the balcony was a highlight of our stay.
The staff were incredibly friendly and always happy to help. From the warm welcome at reception to the cheerful housekeeping team, everyone made us feel truly looked after. Our room was a little dated in style, but it was spotlessly cleaned every day, and the cleaning staff were especially kind and attentive.
Each room comes with a balcony, and if you're lucky, you’ll get one with a sea view—which we were fortunate to enjoy. The hotel offers free Wi-Fi, which was useful but occasionally patchy. Honestly though, with the beach right outside, we didn’t mind disconnecting...
Read moreBasic apartment with good location right on the beach. Beach is nice, free sunbeds and good beach service. Room was very clean, housekeepers were amazing and always smiling😊 safety box in reception is 2€/day, AC 7€/day. Stuff in reception is nice. Restaurant is very expensive. They try to over charge food in the bill, even that prices are already very high. So, be careful. Basic and cheap hotel, where you have a good sleep and shower. If you need something more, this is not for you. There is four floors and no elevator. We spend to weeks...
