Marina Apart Hotel — Hotel in Marmaris

Very bad experience with the family here. These people are a fraud. I have an official complaint logged against them through Mermeris Tourism department. First of all they did not give us the rooms we booked through hotel.com saying the rooms are gone. When we looked at the rooms they were not in a good state and in our group of 9 one of the group member spotted an insect in the bathroom. We politely said to the staff member that some of us are not happy to stay here so we had to book another hotel in emergency and pay more. First thing next morning I phoned hotel.com from Turkey to their UK number and informed them that we are not staying at Marina apart. They said we have cancelled the booking but hotel wants to charge for 1 night as penalty. Fair enough although it was not a no show we still agreed to pay for 1 night. When I checked my bank account they charged for all 3 nights saying it’s a busy season and they did not give those rooms to anyone else as booking was not cancelled and they kept saying no one from hotel.com asked for cancellation where is the proof. They even accused us for not saying to them clearly to cancel the booking and said we kept waiting for you as you said we may come back. Disgusting – Avoid This Place

I checked into this hotel and was utterly horrified by what I found. A pillow reeked of sweat, the bedsheets on multiple beds were covered in hair, disgusting amounts of it. The towels were dirty and stained. EVERYTHING was dirty. It was clear nothing had been cleaned.

I went to reception to complain, and instead of taking action, they just asked if I "wanted to change the sheets." Cherry on top; the new sheets werent clean either:) I had to purchase new bedding to have something proper to sleep on. Clean bedding and basic hygiene shouldn’t be something guests have to request.

Let me be clear: I’m not expecting luxury. I’m expecting basic hygiene, cleanliness, and respect for the fact that people sleep here. This place doesn’t meet even the lowest standards.

Also, there was one AC in one of the rooms which didnt reach the rest. The heat in the next room was unbearable.

We stayed 2 nights here with our adult daughter, booked a 2 bedroom apartment and it was huge! 2 separate bedrooms which could sleep 4, plus another single bed in one of the 2 lounge rooms. A kitchen in the main living area plus sink and small kitchen in the main bedroom. Only one bathroom and it was small but satisfactory. So for the 3 of us, we had so much space which we enjoyed after being crowded in some smaller hotel rooms. We found the location to be very convenient, we walked from the bus station, which took about 20 mins and was downhill (got a taxi on the way back, wasn’t going to walk up those hills carrying a backpack!). We walked easily down to the marina in about 10 mins and ate dinner, browsed the shops and markets and booked a boat trip. No safe in the rooms but we used the safe at reception without any problems.
